Oh boy, the Tesla fanboys are going to go NUTS for that trailer! ??? Hahaha

Can't wait to see it show up Tesla forums.
I've learned to quickly drop my teardrop trailer for dc fast charging. However, Chasing Coral's trailer is in a whole other class for parking lot / dc fast station maneuvering because of its length. Good Luck!

Plan your route using ABRP. If it works, no Tesla charging necessary.
@Travlcub to piggyback on this comment, abetterrouteplanner.com has superior route planning abilities than the MME’s native navigation.

I just had my car try to plan a trip to SW Idaho and it wanted me to skip fully functional Pilot/Flying J and EA stations along the way and use single-pedestal 60kW blink and Chargepoint stations. Bizarre.

Sounds like someone with experience who understands how complicated systems like this can be.
Some, yeah. ;) Ours are just spacecraft, though. That's nothing as complex as trying to satisfy a million impatient humans all with somewhere to be on a holiday weekend and few with memories of crossing the Mojave Desert in an over-heating junker before the time of cell phones and 24-hr gas stations. Or the lines around blocks waiting for a gas pump only to be told the station was empty.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go yell at some young whippersnappers on my lawn.

Please accept my apology for being ignorance . What’s the hype of Tesla Superchargers? Is it more stable? More affordable? Another option to consider?
Is the Blue Oval network not enough?
A lot more charging locations. This opens routes that have no CCS chargers.

will you continue with BOCN or use Tesla’s app in order to buy down the kWh rates?
Just signed up for the Tesla plan. That's today's testing.

I've had my car almost exactly as long as he has, but I don't begrudge him a thing. They gave him one as part of the testing process, not spit in your eye. They can't give one to everyone, so it's a lottery and they give extra credit. The amount of positive and informative stuff he's put on social media like his trip last year pulling his trailer behind his lightning was good PR for them.

Seriously, there's no reason to be pissed about this.
Yup. There is a lot of jealousy in this thread. Jealousy is a bad thing.

Thanks I'll look for those posts. Sounds like It may be easier for me to just consolidate rather than using several apps
Why wouldn't you always use Plug 'n Charge when available on given network? (EA, EVgo, Tesla(now). etc.) Like the name implies......Plug in, endpoints handshake, charging commences, transaction settlement if required goes to a predefined credit card. Easy Peasy, as they say.

For electrify america they have a paid-for discounted membership plan that you can only use if you initiate the charge through EA's app. The plug and charge is tied to your Ford account, which will bill you the full rate instead of the discounted rate. Tesla is also offering a similar thing: for $13/mo you pay a cheaper charging rate, but you will have to initiate the charge with the Tesla app as P&C is tied to your non-discounted Ford account

Looks like all the Tesla chargers around me are up to 150kw. I guess the adapter will be completely useless for me.
Same here. Complete letdown.

even if the cost difference between using the app and P&C is a lot... I'll likely stick with plug and charge for the MME for quality of life issues. If she needs to charge without me there to solve it, My wife will be OK with plugging in and charging... as long as it works just like the Tesla. on the other hand, fumbling with an app... well... I've already been warned. "No more stupid car apps" o_O "why can't this just work!!" and it goes down hill from there...

Well, after I used my initial free charging it was cheaper to get an EA account. It was $4mo and gave a good discount. Then Ford introduced the BOCN but it was $5mo. So, I just never got on that wagon. Now that the EA monthly fee has gone up it may be time to reconsider.

Now, if Tesla and EA are both cheaper with their app and a monthly fee.........I may just stick to the apps.

What's the charging price
- comparing to ea
- comparing to teslas
While having lunch with a co-worker today, we talked about Tesla SC as he has a TM3.

He showed me his rates if he were to charge today and his rate was about $0.20 LESS than my rate - both of us using the Tesla app.

So even though I may pay $0.63/kWh, my co-worker's Tesla will be at $0.45/kWh.

Guess if I really needed a charge, I'd go to Tesla....

This is Ford/Tesla rate:
