They order them based on your VIN, but to install them, the use a guided routine in FDRS called a PMI that pulls the info from the server to install the software it needs based on where the vehicle is based on the current status of the module network. So they APIM the dealer got had your original as built data, and the PMI failed so it didn't load the correct software on it. The dealer did what they had to correctly as far as the procedure they did. However, they saw the PMI failed and should have not released the vehicle as it is. They should have opened a ticket with the hotline so they can do their thing. That would have required you being without your car for who knows how long, but that is the only way your car is going to get fixed.Doesn't seem like it to me either. I just don't get how they appeared to replace the APIM (based on SN) but this one is also stuck on an old Sync version? Do new APIMs come with old Sync versions?
