That's because you did that update already when you used FDRS. The OTA server is not directly linked to the FDRS one, so it failed because there was nothing to install. That OTA brings the TCU strategy to -GE and you car is already on it. You have no updates pending.

So maybe a dumb question but is this irreversible and a hindrance on future OTA updates, or will the OTA server move past this TCU update whenever it decides to give me the more recent updates?

I mean, it is possible to back in software version for modules, but it requires high-level knowledge of FORScan and the right files to do it and it would make no sense to do so.

FDRS > OTA's. By updating it yourself, you pretty much told the OTA process that it can go screw itself because you don't need it. Your car has the latest and greatest of everything, which is why the update failed. When something new DOES come out for any module, you will eventually get it OTA or you can just do it yourself with FDRS. There is nothing wrong with your car and nothing you need to worry about. You're a DIYer and you can do updates whenever you want.......as long as there is something to update. You're good to go.

Yeah, I don't mind doing all my updates through FDRS but it is cost prohibitive if they come out trickling. I will probably wait until there's a few pending before dropping the $50 each time. I appreciate the information!

That is the perfect mentality to have. Spend the $50 when there is something pending for you that you want.

I brought my '23 MME (purchased Feb 2023) into dealership on Monday (4/29/24) they didn't even start the update from TSB 24-2087 until Thursday (5/2/24). They said the update hasn't cleared the errors and Lane Centering still isn't available. The next time they worked on it was the following Wednesday (5/8/24) and they said they're still trying to find out why the in-lane repositioning and lane change assist aren't selectable. They've gone through several software updates and self testing of the modules but figured it out. Next time they looked at my car (5/15/24) they said there were five modules that had new updates available and once updates were completed, there was a warning about the gateway module that they needed to contact Ford. They are currently waiting to hear back.

Would looking up my VIN offer additional information or does anyone know what's going on?

My VIN is 3FMTK2SU5PMA03403

Any help or thoughts would be appreciated. They have had my car going on 3 weeks and it is very frustrating.

Thanks in advance.

So the toggle switches to turn the features on don't slide on? Sounds like a config problem in the IPMA. Do you have FORScan?

Edit: I just looked up two 2023 Mach E's with functioning driver assist features, and these lines in the IPMA read:

706-01-018E5020152A4C

706-01-02050000000015

This is what your car shows:

If they can't figure it and you want to fix it so I can confirm if my hunch is correct. Or if you think they will listen to you, ask them to run an IPMA congif procedure with FDRS. That should do it, too.

Correct , the toggles didn't move when I went to select it. This happened after the December update. I posted on a separate related thread about it where others were having the same issue. At least one person had theirs fixed after applying TSB-2087.
I don't have any of the software or equipment to do this myself. Although I've been thinking about investing in it.
The dealership won't listen to me, they say they only do what Ford tells them to do. I will suggest it though. I appreciate the help!

Here's your list of available updates in FDRS:
3FMTK4SE3PMA53480-14-May-24.png

A couple of things...note that you currently have both a GWM (gateway) and a TCU (telematics modem) in your list at the same time. That normally doesn't happen due to dependencies dictating that one doesn't show up until the other one is already updated. So I suspect you have a problem that a tech with FDRS will have to correct.

That and the fact that your car is throwing the most amazing number of DTCs. So many of them they scroll off the bottom of the page, even after scrolling a page down.

If you're not doing anything right now, call your service advisor and ask them to pull up your VHA in PTS and tell you what they see for today's date.....
Mike,

Took my MME into service today. They mentioned all the dtcs were showing as historical and probably when I unplugged the battery to get the tcu back up and running. He cleared those and said as far as updates everything shows green. He said it’s ok if TCU and GWM show wanting update at the same time. Not good if TCU, GW and APIM at the same time.
He offered to update my GWM and said that might spark more updates later on its own. Told me the tcu could take up to 12 hours so he didn’t attempt it. ?
I was given a screen shot of this below. Would be nice if consumers had access to this.

All you would need to fix it is FORScan. The software is free and the adapter is $30.

If they can't figure it out, message me and we will cross that bridge when we get there.

Exactly what I do. I haven’t bought an FDRS license in a while because I haven’t seen anything that makes me want to jump the OTA queue. When I see something that increases the full power duration I will jump on that right away. Otherwise, meh. Well, maybe if there is an IPC update that gets rid of some of the uneven blank space. ??

Are you able to apply for another 2 month trial of FORscan after your initial trial expires?

So, I just got back from the dealer and they say they did all available updates since there were no OTAs since last August. Interested in seeing if they are "correct". 3FMTK4SX8MME02453 Thanks!
