Very unlikely. Ford does not pay dealers for labor hours to update modules just because they are out of date. The dealer will only update a module to address a customer complaint or if there is an open recall that requires an update to fix the issue.

Call me ignorant but this idea that some get an update and others don’t regardless of the year of vehicle, etc., is very confusing. OTA by definition should make this a flawless way to ensure all cars are up to date and there is continuity in what they sold us.

I would call you ignorant if that was an ignorant comment. Unfortunately, the OTA process is not predictable and nobody knows why this happens or why some vehicles get left on the back burner. There is nothing flawless about it. I would dare say it sucks and this why this thread is approaching 600 pages and counting......because nobody knows anything and a few of us here with access to certain info do what we can to keep people informed with somewhat educated guesses.

Yes, plenty. Too many for me to be able to print the 60 day report. Your car does not seem very happy. This was on 6/10:

And this was the most recent report today:

There are way too many TSB's and SSM's referenced by the codes to be able to determine what is causing the hard faults. Looks like a dealer visit is warranted.

Its there currently and they just replaced the rear motor but they were driving it around and I was wondering what was going on...looks like rear motor replacement didn't fix the issue with the pump

Are you saying that nobody including Ford personnel know how the OTA process works or what the OTA plan is or that they keep it confidential.
I would hope that somebody at Ford has a plan to start sending some updates at some point in time.

Everything looks the same. Many modules still showing they haven't reported themselves to the mothership in 9 months. You do not show any pending OTA's in your queue, so no need to put it on a charger unless you get a notice in your vehicle or Fordpass that you have an update wanting to install. With that said, there is nothing wrong with keeping your LVB charged up, but it is not necessary for you do that every night.

When you have a chance, can I ask you to take one last look at my VIN to see if anything has changed from last week - 3FMTK4SE5PMA81961? The car goes into the dealer tomorrow for TSB 24-2141 (the charging issue - which the fix is software updates), so I just wanted to make sure I have the most current snapshot of what the car is doing in terms of updates.

Ah, got it. Based on time the codes were recorded today, vehicle history shows they've been working on the car diligently all day. They're running pin-point tests and looking up diagrams trying to figure it out.

No, not at all. I'm saying we are on a need-to-know basis and we apparently don't need to know. I can't speak intelligently on what Ford knows or plans or why things are the way they are. I'm just a regular guy with a user name and password for PTS and FDRS who has been following these things since Sync 4 was released and there are obvious patterns of inconsistencies in the OTA process and how things are pushed out and/or released for vehicles.

Last OTA was 5.1.1 followed by another GWM update in April that does not have release notes, so not sure which one it was. Modules with pending updates are below. You also need some APIM, GWM, TCU and at least one IPC update that are not shown here before you are up to date.

Your car is on Sync 23291 which is either the latest version available for you at this time or one version behind. Modules with pending updates are below.

Your car is also on a very recent Sync version but has a lot of the ancillary updates pending. Of the updates you see here, the CMR, PSCM and IPMA are part of the BC 1.4 upgrade package and will give you much improved driver assist features. You're also showing several drivetrain updates which improve overall drivability. Whether this is worth the investment into FDRS or not is a matter of opinion. However, for several reasons, I think everyone who owns a Ford Sync 4 vehicle should have a Mongoose in their toolbox.

You will need to have the GFM module done before the IPC update will appear. By doing some modules, it allows others to be open to being updated.

You can only update what’s available in your software update list. So what you read was if a GWM,APIM,TCU or IPC are in your list, you should update the GWM first, and if another GWM appears, do that again until a GWM no longer appears. Move on the APIM and do that until no further APIM appear. If a GWM appears after an APIM, you would do that GWM. After those modules are updated, move to something like the GFM and that would release the IPC. If No GWM, APIM or TCU are present, you would then do the IPC.
