Shouldn't you advertise this as **optional?

Your website -> 10% to 80% charge in ~36 minutes with DC Fast Charging

I don't mind that it's optional or a pay for use service. My point is that it be advertised as an option. right?

When comparing apples to apples during the purchase phase these details are important. Had I known that high DCFC rates were optional I still would have bought the Mach e - but might have included something in the deal...

What most people don't realize (and Ford could do a better job of educating) is that conditions have to be optimal to achieve the advertised charge rate.

Even if it's not cold outside, say 60-70s deg F, the battery needs to be closer to 90deg F to maximize the DCFC charge rate. That's why I precondition no matter what time of year as I'm heading to DCFC.

Hard to know what you are getting at, but DC Fast Charging (Level 3) isn't "optional" any more than Level 1 or Level 2 are optional.
Is filling up an ICE car at a Shell station optional? It's the way you get energy into the car.
Ford publishes the capabilities of the car. It's up to you to get the electricity into it. It is not a "Ford pay per use service" - the charging systems are run and owned by other entities.

Are you saying that those faster charging times (10% to 80% in 36 minutes) are only available with the higher cost of DC fast charging and you weren't really aware of this?

Like others, I'm trying to understand what you are getting at in your post. Some clarification would help.

This post is like saying physics is optional.
I think calculus-based physics (classes) should be optional but regular physics classes should be required. Unfortunately, the state school board thinks physics (classes) are optional :(
