Would gaming on the center display be a feature you would use if it was part of an OTA? Would you pay for it as an OTA?

That would be awesome, but I assume the modem and 4G connection the car has probably has data caps that wouldn't support something like Stadia. Maybe if they offer an upgraded plan for just that? ?
Yeah I'd pay extra for an upgrade to do that.

Would I pay extra for Solitaire or something similarly low-effort? No.

I think there might be preference to be able to cast their own device to the screen (USB or Wi-Fi). Also, it would be a good idea to do a test for how long until you get a sore neck when looking at that angle.

Video streaming or internet browsing would be more popular, I believe.

I'd like to be able to cast from my phone to the center console in the future. Is that something that's available? It would be great once the Ford Active Assist 360 or whatever it's being called if I could watch TV or a football game on the big screen while Ford does the driving.

The only time I can image doing that ... is if I'm plugged in at a fast charger and waiting in the car (e.g. 20-30 minutes). But I would have my phone with me and I'd probably have my iPad with me (I usually do if I'm traveling anywhere substantially enough that stopping for a charge would be needed).

But that's not something I expect would have very often and ... as I have my iPad (which does have cellular data) ... I wouldn't actually pay for such a service because I've already have another device that can do the same thing.

I don't understand Tesla's obsession with putting games on the center display. I tried them once and it was rather clunky. I'd rather just use my phone.

I always wondered about the wear and tear on the steering wheel when using it for games. I assume everything gets ”disconnected“ when in game mode, but the fast “turns“ in a game are different than what you normally have with even aggressive driving. And more sustained/constant turns at that. I would be afraid the wheel would develop squeaks or show other signs of wear after a lot of “game mode“ usage.

No and no. I want a car, and I already have a Nintendo Switch. Don't waste development time and effort on junk that doesn't make the car better. Spend those resources on substantial car things, not window dressing.

It would be fun for 5 minutes as I show it off to friends. Then I probably wouldn't use it again.
I agree, this would effectively be a dumb party trick, where most people will talk about it more than actually use it.

Not necessarily a bad move if Ford pushed it because people overall seem to give great weight to these cute/tangential features based on the experience of another manufacturer, but it is a very minor thing.

You’re supposed to be watching the road and be ready to take over during hands free driving so that won’t happen. Hopefully at some point we’ll get streaming apps to watch while parked, I believe you can already cast any app to apple CarPlay or android auto with a jail broken phone but obviously that isn’t a good solution.

I wonder if Apple CarPlay will ultimately support Apple TV/Apple Arcade (while the car is in Partk)? I’d be happy with Apple TV (and support for other TV services, such as HBOmax and AT&T TV).

I voted no. I have a phone for that. But, it may be worth it just to get some fan boi's to shut the * up about it.

Tesla has games but only while parked. I think the intent is to entertain while charging.

I would just use my phone when not driving. I rarely play game anyway.
