They promised a charging curve? I've only seen reference to peak charging rate.
all we were promised so far was a time for a specific percentage of range, and then the hand-drawn picture that I posted over in the other thread about charging curve that I won't post again here. that was it.

Yep, 10-80% SOC in 45 minutes. Which would be an average rate of 82 kW (ER battery). So far the few anecdotal examples seem to support that. We've seen an avg of ~90 kW reported on charger displays (which is probably close to 82 in the car with charging loss).

I always assumed the "150 kW" and "61 miles in 10 minutes" figured from Ford were temporary peaks, not averages.

The should put one in at the Mustang Ranch. Perfect merger. ?
you'd even have time to charge to full there

assuming you're doing it right anyway

just a minor nitpick - the updated service plazas - I don't know if over 2020 they finally completed renovating all of them or not, but the old versions were basically awful. This was unfortunate, because the first one coming in from... the East I think? I forget which end... was one of the old style ones and it definitely felt like it - bathrooms, water fountains, vending machines, and a small tourist info station that was closed a lot - and that was it.

the new style ones that are most of the stops now though? yeah, those are pretty great.
Good point: Being in Michigan I usually only use the turnpike from Toledo East--if I'm going West I stay in Michigan until Indiana so miss the plaza's to the West.

All the one's I've been in from Toledo to PA have been the upgraded ones.

Let’s remember that the video was a rather uncontrolled test. We also need to keep in mind that charging is a function of the car and the charger. While the TFL result is worrisome, it only provides limited information beyond something we already know: EA has reliability problems.

Although when it finally did work on the 3rd charger, it pulled a disappointing power rate. That's the datapoint in there I was more ? about.

I really wanted to give it a fair shot so I plugged the Mach E into a fourth station (350kW) and it wouldn't connect to the car :(

Do you think it is the blame lies more on the Mach-E or EA? If EA, would you consider reaching out to them to see if they have an explanation?

I think we shouldn't read too much into this from only TFL's experience.. In the video I posted in the other thread, Tom Molougney of IEV saw 92-100 KW between 43% to 70%.

Summary:
Only took 27 secs from plugging in to connect, process payment and initiate charging! Didn't even need to get inside the car to check the status.
43% SOC : 150 kW for 2 mins
Then drops to 90-100 kW from 43% to 60%
60-70% : 92 kW
At 80%: 74 KW, then a fast drop to 12 kW, presumably due to Ford-EA deal.

So 43% to 80% in 22 mins for the larger battery.
Ford promises 10% to 80% in 45 mins for the 98.8 kWh battery. So it is inline with that.
---

It isn't Taycan-like, but it is pretty good and perhaps better than many Tesla superchargers, especially when sharing charging stalls.

Tom's experience is way better than TFL's experience about charging on EA. The recent canon ball record by Taycan also shows that the EA charging network is working quite well and perhaps will improve much faster now that we have got Taycan, ID4 and Mach-E using the high power stations.
