That's what I recommend as a preemptive fix Mike. Hopefully that prevents the issue but I have no data.

Today I brought my 2023.5 (Premium 4x) in to my local dealership because they informed me there was a Customer Satisfaction Program (24P16) applicable to my model and date of manufacture. There’s been some speculation that this issue - Remote Climate Control Module staying awake and draining 12v battery - might be linked to the total lockout problem. Seems like Ford thought so too, as the technicians got the message attached when they started this CSP work.

In short, it seems like the they thought this might be the root cause, but no longer believe that’s the case. They associate this glitch with OTAs, but it’s unclear which one. I guess the good news is their engineering department is aware of this issue and working on a fix. Hope it comes soon!

But once again...has anybody that has gotten locked out reported that they got locked out again after the car was repaired?

About 36 hours after picking up my car that now had a brand new 12V battery, I got a notice in the app that the 12V battery was getting very low. That notice went away after charging my car that night (even though it had over 200 miles of range).

My car updated the morning of July 12th, getting the battery optimization update, which apparently also fixed some settings not saving to the user's profile. I was excited about that update because I thought it would fix the sound equalizer settings getting reset every time I use my car (super annoying), so I had my car take the 7 minute update while it was sitting in the parking lot at my place of business around 9:30 AM that morning. The update was successful (but did not fix the sound equalizer settings, which is the reason I was excited and eager about the update). It wasn't until Monday, July 15th that the lockout issue happened. My hunch is the OTA update caused the issue, but the issue didn't manifest itself until a few days later.

Doesn't make a ton of sense, half those FSAs don't exist or are expired. They're stopping powertrain updates, door latch updates, and HVAC updates. Just kinda seems like an "all stop" on dealer updates until they figure out what's happening.

I guess it isn't a single update that's causing this issue, but "any" update in a certain scenario? Why else pause all update TSBs?
