Hi there, I'm a new user and owner. I have had a brand new 23 Mustang since April 2024 and I've just had some issues with 12V draining warnings and my car has just come back from the dealer today, and been told it needed updating. I was under the impression they were all OTA, so I am unsure why they hadn't happened themselves, and why nothing came up when I checked FordPass or my Ford Account?

Nonetheless, the dealership have told me it is now all updated, but I feel it would be a good idea if someone could at least double check that for me please.

VIN: WF0TR3R70PMA32759
As expected, the only updates they did are the ones associated with the recall. While some people have had luck with dealers doing all the updates, most people get the run around, an excuse, or are just flat out lied to. Ford does not pay them to do updates just because updates are pending. They can only bill Ford if the update is part of a recall or if it address a specific problem.

Thanks very much for this! That's very handy to know that the dealer did not manually install all the updates available, only "Mandatory" ones. I still don't know why the original updates never applied OTA, nor how to ensure I get the other updates. I think a phone call to the dealer is required to find out more.

I have been getting a flurry of updates over the past few days. Including refined audio as of this morning.

Can someone please look at my VIN and send me the outstanding OTAs?

THANKS!

IMO Don't bother calling them. The OTA process is unreliable and unpredictable. You'll get updates whenever the mothership deems you worthy of sending you one. I know it is not the answer you want, but it is what it is.

Good afternoon, I like many posters here got about 6 updates last week. I'm still waiting for the Tesla plug&charge and 6.14. I was curious as to what else I'm still waiting for. Could someone please check mine?
VIN: 3FMTK3R72PMA54475

Thanks in advance

Ha yeah it was a waste of time and basically told me they don’t want to update anything if it ain’t broke lol.

That said, my Sync4 is still 4.1.2.2 from 2023 ?‍♂ and I think the latest is like 6.x? It’s a shame I can’t get that updated.

4.x.x and 6.x.x are the names of OTA updates and not all of them are Sync updates. What Sync version does you car say it is on in the "about sync" of your touchscreen? PTS shows you're on Sync 4.0.23ddd which does not make sense for a 2023.

That makes more sense. You are a few sync versions behind the latest one, but you would need several APIM, GWM & TCU updates to come in before you'll get there.

The UK and EU are in a completely different world than North America when it comes to updates.

Interesting. Did not know that. Out of curiosity: Is the latest Sync version for them an older version than what it is on this side of the pond?

Hey All. I posted in another thread about an issue I ran into this morning with my '22 GT (non PE). Someone suggest I see if someone in this thread with an active FDRS account could pull DTCs.

Quick summary: was backing out of a parking space and when I shifted into Drive, got the red "Stop Safely Now" banner on the dash and it honestly felt like an ICE transmission "slipping". Couldn't even make it to another parking spot before the car stopped. Turned it off, waited 5 seconds or so, turned it on again and the "Stop Safely Now" was replaced by an Amber "Service Vehicle Soon" and the amber tool shaped indicator. Car seemed to be drivable, so I carefully made my way to the dealer.

Dealer tried looking online for any codes for the car - nothing. Again, keeping it brief, started the car again and the warning was gone and there was no indication that anything had happened.

2 1/2 hours later, I get "Powertrain System Fault - illuminates when the system has detected a powertrain or a four-wheel drive fault." in FordPass.

So I'm left wondering whether to just keep driving the car and see how it goes - if someone here could check for DTC's, that might help me make a more informed decision. VIN: 3FMTK4SE1NMA51952.

Thanks in advance!

They didn't see any codes online? Maybe they should have tried actually looking. The ones with the star are the news ones that coincide with whatever happened.

Javier beat me to it.

I did notice that there are only three VHA reports for the last 60 days: How often do you drive this car?
