Same. I got a June adapter and the email. I’m looking forward to the replacement.I got mine middle June and got an email for replacement
Your adapter may not be covered. It doesn’t appear at this time to cover every adapter issued. So are these the adapters like we were waiting seven months to get that we finally got, because I didn’t see an email saying that not to use the adapter?
Yeah, I checked all that and like I said the first time I used mine I could not see any problem with it. It actually clipped on smooth and plugged in even smoother so how it could damage and not quite sure?Your adapter may not be covered. It doesn’t appear at this time to cover every adapter issued.
If you’re particularly paranoid, like me, check your spam and junk folders on the email account you have linked to Ford.
I would recommend checking your address in FordPass to make sure it's updated in case there was a mix up. Also check your spam for email.![]()
I did NOT get this emai. My adapter was recieved in April 2024.
If the adapter is at issue for having a defect I’d say that’s on the vendor, i.e. Tesla, not Ford.Yes, I just go that aswell:

It no wonder Ford vehicles are so expensive, they have to do everything twice.
We have confirmation from several of the first batch recipients that they have not gotten this notice. So far, it looks to be isolated to the second batch. You know, the first batch that was made by people who were hired on after Elon fired everyone on the Supercharger team. ??Are all 15,000+ owners who got the adapter and the email going to reply to this thread saying "yep, I got an email, too?"
This appears to be a second batch issue (June shipments). So far all of the respondents with April shipments have responded in the negative. ??I would recommend checking your address in FordPass to make sure it's updated in case there was a mix up. Also check your spam for email.
I think you’re correct that this will spill over to GM and Rivian. Likely more delays in shipping to those who haven’t received one at all, presuming Ford backfills the replacement units prior to new, “first time”, shipments. These are sourced from Tesla. It’s why the rollout included so many delays since Elon fired the entire Supercharger team right after this was announced. ??
EDIT: I guess Rivian and GM will be recalling their Tesla-sourced adapters too. ??
It means that your adapter wasn’t in the batch that was identified to be problematic. So far we are only seeing confirmations from second batch recipients. ??If I didn’t receive this email today from Ford is my adapter good?? I received mine in September.
Nah, It's Tesla (outsourced to China most likely) made for use on Tesla superchargers to enable Tesla Revenue potential and give Tesla access to Government funding. I am not a believer in Ford quality in general but this isn't a Ford issue. It's both of them. Ford should have tested this, and not shipped it if it wasn't up to par.
Possibly not to GM since it was just Rivian and Ford in that second batch. If the third batch gets identified as well, then GM too. ??I think you’re correct that this will spill over to GM and Rivian.
