I've dropped the last dude who was quite helpful an email asking if they can drop it off. The UK has quite a small team working on the BEV division.

It just seemed to dry up while quite far behind. Thank you for checking it for me!
I got a call back today from the EV team at Ford UK.

They told me it’s a total and temporary pause on OTAs, and in the future they’d continue but would be customer led rather than fully automatic - because of the length of time to upgrade to newer versions and the file size involved. He told me my 21 would definitely be resuming updates at some point.

However the fleet status will not matter for me, as it’s a ā€œretailā€ model also. I did try and ask them to remove it anyway but he said he’d have to ask around and email me.

Well that's a pretty candid response.

"definitely resuming updates at some point".....well I certainly hope so.

They clearly don't have a handle on keeping cars in the field updated. And after all that publicity and promises....

"definitely resuming updates at some point".....well I certainly hope so.

They clearly don't have a handle on keeping cars in the field updated. And after all that publicity and promises....
He was really nice and told me he’d write to me also by email with the details. However so far nothing. I’ll pop it here if he does.

Apparently they’ve had some trouble with cars being unavailable for hours and I presume complaining about it.

Apparently, this dealership is not aware that everything a tech does in FDRS is visible as a history session for anybody with FDRS to see.

Although there can be some exceptions (communications issues or issues with FDRS) everything is logged, and any updates performed are shown in the session logs, and normally the update listed in the available software table is removed immediately after the update is performed (again with some exceptions for faulty update packaging).

This would not be the first service advisor or tech to suddenly realize that other people can see what they did or did not do. And the mistakes they made, if any.

Quick update, I was on the phone with the In Vehicle Technology team in Canada and they don’t know about FDRS and said that updates are completely random.

Going to pop into the dealership tomorrow as my Pirelliā€˜s are cracking with 1000 miles on them and I’ll see if they can help. I saw a template so I will fill that out and let me know if anyone else has ideas?

I’m a little worried that I’m stuck and will be for a long time unless I buy a mongoose myself.

Anyone in Edmonton or Calgary who would want to split it?
