Que the "when are we getting that instrument cluster panel update on older models?!?!" (I'd guess never as a '21 owner without updates in ages...)

I thought native-NACS port was slated for the '25 model years? If it had been included, my interest in upgrading would've increased.
Not me. NACS in the car means I need an adapter at home - where I charge 99% of the time. Doing an adapter the few times I public charge takes only a moment. And there's always a chance I'd want to charge at CCS station, so I'd end up buying and carrying a CCS to NACS adapter.

NACS on the car is a feature to be avoided, for me. Glad they didn't jump yet, the 25 looks kinda sweet.

I'm seeing several comments about the "park" switch in the console. I'm pretty sure that's for the electronic parking brake, the actual Park selector is on the gear lever.

Did you check if there’s a forscan option to adjust this?
No, not sure forscan will help.

So - my wife likes the current setting and uses the butt warmers on high. I use the butt warmers on low, and want a lower setting for the steering wheel too.
If forscan could attach unique steering wheel heat settings to my driving profile and hers, then that could work. Is that possible?

And now that I think about profiles - it would have been nice for 2025 to add the interior rear view mirror to be automated and attached to our profiles. Something we test drove before buying the MME had that. Might have been the Lexus RZ, but the range was gawdawful.

Other things I would have liked in the refresh or the pending redesign:
  • V2H or at least V2L
  • Pass-through in the rear seat for skis/ski poles. A pouch/bag (like some Volvos, etc) to contain the portion of the skis in the pass through would be nice too. (So no extra drag when going skiing, the cold is enough of an impediment)
  • Trailer hitch like the Euro spec MME, for carrying gear if no rear seat pass through
  • Cargo net(s) in the rear compartment
  • A second wireless charger in the console
  • Fog Lights as an option on the Premium
  • Kick to open tailgate like the '21s had

I am interested to know how much the EPA (especially highway) range has improved. I am sure it does not even get close to 400-mile territory, which I suppose is impossible until they start producing a battery that has a big increase in energy density. My guess is the new GT has a EPA range of 290 miles.

It seems like the big battery breakthroughs (the game changers) never come. We get small incremental improvements over many years.

Highway range is one of my biggest wants/needs. I know many don't care as much about it as I do, but it will have a huge impact on what BEV I purchase to replace my MME.

it makes things a lot easier around our house now that iPhone is USB-C, because all our other devices are USB-C.
I'm not denying that (I actually don't have an iPhone, and I'm happy the only iDevice I have - an iPad - was USB-C when I bought it). But did the Lightning connector actually stop someone from upgrading their iphone in the last couple years, especially when USB-C was imminent?

Evolved past stalk shifters? Most EVs use them.

Also, what's with the call for native NACS? You are still going to have to use an adapter for some time unless you plan on using Tesla Superchargers exclusively. Unless you are buying a charger for the first time or came from a Tesla, you probably have a J1772 charger/EVSE as well.
Re: Column shifters - Just because Johnny is doing it doesn’t mean we should. I didn’t even like the column shifters in my Cadillacs. Our cars have consoles. The lack of a console shifter is super-weird in a car with a console. ??

Agreed on the charge port. 6 of one, half dozen of the other. I currently have a Destination adapter (AC) so I can use a Tesla L2 charger on my J-1772 car. I would need either a new EVSE or a J-1772 to Tesla adapter to charge at home.?‍♂?

I'm a Canadian MME driver and I've had YouTube for a couple months now. Go into the app drawer and check the Entertainment tab, you might have it already.
Thanks for the suggestion, I have checked multiple times over the last couple months ( and again today) and it’s not there. Not sure why I don’t have the app, the last OTA I received was in June for the easy entry.

So I am curious who asked for the shifter to be moved? I don’t remember that being a massive ask from the mache customer bingo card.

Since there seems to be so many complaints about it getting moved on this thread, I hate the knob and the location of the knob and would much rather have the stalk.

We aren't going to get rid of ours or buy another Mach-E to get the stalk, but all things being equal I'd rather have it.

I can't tell you how many times I've gone the wrong direction with that stupid knob, it's dozens of times in a few days under 4 months of ownership. If it was an ICE vehicle I probably would have blown up the transmission already by inadvertently putting it into Park while rolling.

For now, I've decided, I'm just going to have to look down at it while shifting to make sure I'm going the correct direction.

BTW, you gain a heat pump but you lose ~ half the frunk space:

One of my photos from an event last week in NY state. More on that coming.
At this point, with the smaller frunk, it's kind of funny to me that they still retain the frunk interior emergency release button. I don't think it qualifies as a space where a human could become trapped in any longer (except an infant I guess?)

If a 3-year old fits, they have to have a working escape button. Which was the whole point of the special baby-blocking frunk divider on early 2021s when the button didn’t work.
