Just saw this from State of Charge.

Ford will now be shipping the Lectron CCS1 to NACS adapter to customers.

I wonder why the OEMs don't seem to like A2Z.

ETA: I tried to find a Ford release on this, but the best I have so far I got from Mach-E VLog, and that is a listing on the adapter on the Ford site (currently showing as sold out)
Ford has confirmed that this is a new adapter that has been co-developed with Lectron and Ford. It has been rigorously tested specifically for Ford electric vehicles.

Might you have a link for that from Ford?

( Speculating on why not A2Z .... who knows. Could have been engineering. Could have been manufacturing capacity. Could be nationalism. )

Generally speaking capitalism and nationalism are mutually exclusive. Walk into Walmart, you'll see what I mean.

Ford doesn’t care if the adapters are made in China. Ford might care if they have to spend additional money to deal with a company headquartered in Canada vs US.

Exactly my point. Except in your example Ford is not trying to make money, they are trying to save it. But that's not "nationalism" though, that's Bean Counters.

And Robert Hayes and Chris Maiwald here:
Interlock is good to see, I couldn't find any information that the current Lectron adapter has an interlock for the cable. Sounds like I might get one of these cause I was in the bad batch of Tesla provided adapters. Now if only Ford would update the software for the button by the port so any random schmuck can't just come along and end my charging and take the cable.

Didn't someone post that recently they discovered that if the doors are locked, the button next to the charge port no longer allows someone to walk up and stop the charging and remove the charge cable?

The ford.com website does not allow me to order an adapter under my new car's VIN #. Likely, because I already ordered and received an adapter for my previously owned Mach-e which I sold with the adapter. Is there a phone number to call or some other way to place an order?
Free orders are allocated based on VIN. My original MME was totaled in May and I received the adapter for it. I purchased another MME in September and promptly ordered another adapter. I think that the final deadline for a free adapter was end of September.

Believe reservations for free adapters ended August 31?
It was extended again to the end of September. But I think that was final.

So what was Ford's contribution to this? Putting the adapter in the box and shipping it out? Although I suspect that got outsourced too.

I’m new to the game but trying to understand since, weirdly, my dealer didnā€˜t know: I just bought a MME last week so I completely missed the multi extended redemption for a free adapter right? Sad but okay, so now I have to buy it…but there are none in stock ever? And I must get it from Ford?

There are 115,000 or so people waiting for their free adapter. When Ford sells it, it will be $200. You can use any adapter you want, just like you could buy a Fram oil filter for your gas vehicle.

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protects consumers. A car company must prove that a failure of some part of the vehicle was caused by using a 3rd party's parts to deny warranty coverage. Both Lectron and A2Z have extensively tested their adapters and provided the OEMs with the data. Thousands, if not tens of thousands are using 3rd party adapters for Ford, GM, Rivian, etc.

Lectron's adapter costs $238.99 from Amazon.

A2ZEV makes the Typhoon Pro adapter for Tesla SuperChargers. It sells for $189.00 ($170.10 after using code FORDFORUM). They also sell the Stellar adapter, which is for Tesla Destination chargers (such as hotels, private homes). It sells for $111. If you pick use the dropdown menu on the Typhoon Pro page to pick the Stellar adapter also, the combined price is $270.00 ($243.00 with code FORDFORUM). In other words, it’s only $72.90 more for the destination charging adapter. They are currently shipping quickly. I have both adapters and have used both many times. They work great. Nobody has such a great combo deal. https://a2zevshop.com/products/nacs-ccs1?ref=Typhoon&variant=43186507579592
