Is that normal, considering I never took my car to get this done?
I've seen others posting about 23B50 no longer being applicable to their car. There were at least two other campaigns that as part of their 'remedy' updated the powertrain modules. So it's possible that because your car got updated by one of those other programs it was deemed unnecessary to still require yet another powertrain update on your VIN.

If anyone can check my VIN: 3FMTK3SS8PMA48923. My vehicle is at the dealer because a BlueCruise update has been stuck for a couple of weeks.

I’m interested in seeing what else is available for updates after the BlueCruise update gets cleared and reinstalled.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This is the second time you are sent this update. Last time it was sent was 9/10 and that time, it did download the files, but never attempted to install the update. The OTA trigger from the second time it was sent is still active. Your car pinged the server back, but it has not downloaded the files. If you have FORScan, try rebooting the GWM and TCU. If you don't, try disconnecting the 12v battery for a half hour or so. Once you reconnect it, start the car and manually check for updates to see what happens.

I'm sure this is a conversation for another thread, but I have been stuck "getting the latest software update status" since 10/14/2024 when I last received ECG-24.2.5.6.2. I spoke with Ford's OTA support team (833-389-0848), who confirmed the APIM update is "stuck" and the car is reporting an error establishing connection due to an error with the image processing module.

She gave me a TSB # of 24-70-76, but I cannot find it. However, I did find SSM 53088: https://www.mustang7g.com/forums/attachments/ssm-53088-pdf.588082/.

I was told a dealer would have to hook up to the OBD and push the updates through. I contacted a local Ford dealer and they said they don't have the knowledge of EVs to service them. I guess this is pretty common too:

I couldn't be more thankful this is a lease.

This is the right place. Need the VIN to check anything. PM is fine.

Btw, that SSM you posted is in reference to an APIM update that doesn't exist yet. Whatever OTA you have in queue is not the one referenced by that.

@DigitizedMe I found your VIN on another post. The OTA is stuck because your car is not pinging the server back to allow the OTA trigger to proceed to the next step. If you have FORScan, reboot the GWM and TCU. If you don't, try disconnecting the 12v battery for 30 minutes and then manually check for updates when you start the car back up. This may not do anything, but it won't hurt, either. If the GWM or TCU is locked up in some funky state, this may give it the kick it needs.

Well book it in for the BlueCruise, the extra keyfob, and the HVAC update. Those are all freebies. If you play the sympathy card saying you just got the car and you've noticed several things aren't working right they may do all the other updates as well.

In the process of trying to do your BlueCruise updates they will run into problems because it looks like you have an issue with a module or two that won't update, or has corrupted data. Not sure I'd mention that to them, but be prepared for your car to be in the shop longer than they said it would (unless the tech is really good and has seen this before). Regardless, this is something that has to get sorted by somebody eventually.

Once these issues get straightened out though you should start getting updates OTA.
Hey @Mike G, wanted to see if you could check my VIN again to see if any pending updates when you get a chance. Hasn’t updated since May or June.

Just joined the club with a 21 GT. Would love to see what you can pull on my car. UX seems pretty out of date and stuck with a “not complete” tag when checking the software.

Welcome to the forum. 3.5.3 is old. You're on Sync 22228 which is software from 2022. I recommend you stick around the forum to learn a bit more about how these things work and explore the idea of updating it yourself with FDRS. As far behind as you are, it will take the OTA process a very long time to get you anywhere near being up to date.

Welcome to the forum. Your car is on Sync 23031 which is a few versions behind the latest one and has a long list of pending updates. OTA history shows the last OTA attempted was 4.2.6 which failed to install due to poor 12v battery stats. In your case, I would also recommend you explore the FDRS route to get as caught up as you can based on what you have showing pending and what you don't show pending.

Really appreciate it. Will do some research on the FDRS route but honestly would probably be too nervous to brick the car. Can you tell when the last attempted update was

I'm off the laptop, but OTA history is only recorded for 60 days at a time, so less than that. It was at the end of September if I remember correctly.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and recently bought a 2022 Mach-e, with VIN <redacted>. During the buying process I noticed the Sync version being 22028_411 and I asked the dealer to update the software before delivery. Looking at all the various topics and experiences of people here, I'm very curious if they did ;).

Thanks for looking that up! Yeah I knew I was out of date by a lot. So what you’re saying is that it will EVENTUALLY update over the air. I was under the impression that it wouldn’t update anymore because I was so far behind. What would trigger them to send the updates again? Like I’m just at the mercy of Ford and when they want to release the update again? Not quite sure how that works.
And yes I was looking at the FDRS abit, but seems expensive for essentially a one time use? Do you think normal mechanic shops not named Ford would do these at a cheaper price?

Sync (APIM) was exactly what they did not update...along with your IPMA (image processor).

The tech did the updates on the 4th of Nov.

During that process, the tech initiated the update of the IPMA but FDRS warned the car's 12V battery state of charge was below the recommended level, so the tech backed out of that update.

And here's the list of currently available software, including the APIM you asked them to update, and the IPMA they skipped:

Your car got 3.5.3 in early September and nothing has been sent since. Yes, eventually you will get another update, but there is no way of knowing when and there is no way of speeding up the process. Calling Ford's 800 number is a waste of time. You are totally at the mercy of the OTA process or lack thereof.

Once you fall into the "I'm out of date" rabbit hole, there's no turning back. For now, I'd say enjoy your new car and as you learn things, you will start to realize here and there the little things you are missing and you can then determine if it's worth it or not. A shop will charge you more than the cost of FDRS, so it makes more sense to go the FDRS route instead and have the tools you need to be future-proof yourself for when new stuff gets released and/or if your vehicle has a problem.
