Really just back in September? Do you think that was because it was just a test drive vehicle for the dealership and didn’t get driven as much as it needed to get proper updates for the past 2 years?Your car got 3.5.3 in early September and nothing has been sent since. Yes, eventually you will get another update, but there is no way of knowing when and there is no way of speeding up the process. Calling Ford's 800 number is a waste of time. You are totally at the mercy of the OTA process or lack thereof.
Once you fall into the "I'm out of date" rabbit hole, there's no turning back. For now, I'd say enjoy your new car and as you learn things, you will start to realize here and there the little things you are missing and you can then determine if it's worth it or not. A shop will charge you more than the cost of FDRS, so it makes more sense to go the FDRS route instead and have the tools you need to be future-proof yourself for when new stuff gets released and/or if your vehicle has a problem.
