Does anyone know why the car should be unplugged? This is news to me.
Most of that script that the customer service reps regurgitate is garbage. About the only thing you need to do is ensure your 12V battery has a high state of charge and that you are in an area with a good AT&T cellular signal. The rest is up to Ford’s algorithm that releases OTAs to individual VINs. ??

Kind folks here, can anyone run my VIN to see what my vehicle might be missing? Many thanks in advance!

Would someone with FDRS access provide me with any insight into why I haven't received an OTA update this year?
VIN - 3FMTK3SU0NMA27479
'22 Premium AWD
I believe the last OTA the car received was September or October of last year.

Ford Connected Services isn't giving me a ton of info (though I can't say they weren't helpful). They said it seems like I'm likely missing out on some important updates, and gave me some things to try.
The dealer had the car last week and said there weren't any OTAs available, but they did replace the 12v battery so that was pretty nice.
Here's the list of available updates in FDRS:

You have an outstanding FSA (23B50) for the "Charge Cord Stuck" issue. The remedy for this is to update your powertrain modules (PCM, ABS, BECM, SOBDM, and SOBDMC).

You have an GWM (gateway module) in your available list, and normally that means when that is updated some other module update will become available (due to dependency rules). It is possible that getting that GWM updated will unlock something else like an APIM (Sync) update, etc.

So when you schedule the car to get the 23B50 addressed, you might ask the Service Advisor if you can get the GWM updated during that session.

Hi - Would someone with FDRS be able to check my updates? The last OTA was 5/31/24.
It's a 2021 Route 1. VIN is - 3FMTK2R74MMA06465
I have not been following all of the updates and versions posted on this forum and need your help. How far behind is my car's Blue Cruise and Sync updates?

Thanks

Specifically BlueCruise related, you'd need (in order), the CMR, IPMA, PSCM updated.

Getting the powertrain modules updated wouldn't hurt. There is a rumour that Ford is telling dealer techs not to update IPMA/PSCM on the '21 models. I have not seen that in writing, but given the sheer number of '21 models with IPMA/PSCM module updates in their lists, I have to believe there could be some truth to that. Those folks that have gotten the IPMA/PSCM updated (DIY'ers) haven't really reported anything negative that I'm aware of.

I thought there was a thread for this over on the Lightning forum

Anyway, go for a drive so that APIM can finish downloading and then check for updates manually to see if you can get it to "Update Now". It says you have that update "pending" as of yesterday.

Folks, thanks so much for doing this. I was wondering if someone can check for my 2024 Premium AWD?
Vin: 3FMTK3S53RMA13462
Latest update was 10.1.1, but the OCD in me wants to know if there's any pending updates.
You have no pending OTAs.

That said, you do have updates available in FDRS that may or may not become OTAs in the future:

So we're looking at a set of powertrain updates, the body controller, the CMR driver eye-nanny-cam module, the IPMA image processor (ADAS), the ACM radio module, and the RFA Bluetooth module.

This was a new one to me as well. "85% and unplugged", so I clarified with the guy twice. I usually only charge to 85%, so when it's at 85% it's plugged in, otherwise it's below 85%.
This is the sort of guidance you would get if there was an actual pending update for your VIN that the server was trying to push to your car, but your car wasn't getting the message, or was having difficulty processing the update.

None of what that advisor said will help you if the Ford servers don't have your VIN queued up to send you an OTA in the first place.

But they're just spitting out what they've been told to suggest. They can't really tell you why you don't have any available updates because they don't know.

Many thanks! More stuff than I had expected since I updated the truck this Summer after purchase... one IPC OTA showed up afterwards on 26 August and then... zip.

I'll bet you are....

Keep an eye out for strange things going wrong or things not working correctly...because your 12V battery is showing a 39% SOC and that may mean it's on the way out. That will cause strange messages etc. When it does quit you won't be able to open the doors.

You currently have no open 'campaigns' (field service actions). So I'm not sure what they plan on doing while the car is in the shop.

Thank you! I already have it back. I am going to compare this scan with the one ran previous to see if any change. I got 10.1.1 in November so I guess i'm as good as i can get for now.
