Thanks for that info. Sync info below. When they did the "New APIM" they definitely at least updated it, as I didn't have the camera icon on the top bar previously. But no idea if they actually replaced it or physically fixed anything.
I can tell you that when they installed the new APIM, they installed it correctly in terms of the steps they are supposed to follow. Also, the info there matches what Ford has on their side, too.

@Mike G I wanted to make sure the serial number and Sync version matched what Ford shows. I've seen way too many botched APIM's installs to not check the easy stuff first. lol However, because APIM updates install while the car is on, and when an update fails due to low SoC it will clearly say that, I don't think that is the reason this APIM update keeps failing.

@Synkrox Regardless of the reason this APIM OTA continues to fail, this below is not normal. I would show this to the dealer to see if they manually install it for you.

I was told by Ford it was a low 12v issue at one point, If this is a big update, is it possible the battery is only just good enough and going too low during the update process? Guess not if it definitely only installs while car is on!?

Thank you both so much for your insights. I'm a tech guy by trade so seeing software issues but not being able to see the error logs is so frustrating.

Does "campaign expired" mean it won't try to install again at all?
I'm not getting much joy from Ford UK so might try the dealer and see if they are willing to plug me in.

Thanks so much both of you ?

Expired means the OTA trigger expired on the server before it was able to install, but it will eventually be resent. Below are the error messages it reported on the failed attempts. The update failed several times citing these across the different times it failed. Perhaps you being in the industry, you can make more sense out it than I can.

@Synkrox Just pulled the codes and your car is reporting this one consistently. Ethernet failure codes are no bueno. I would try pulling the negative battery terminal for 20 minutes to force reset all modules in the network. If the GWM is not talking to the APIM correctly via ethernet, that's the issue. From my understanding, this update is fed via ethernet and not CAN bus.

Yeah I'll do that. I'm sure this is the same issue that stopped the updates even before the APIM was replaced though. I have pulled the fuses (19 and 21 in passenger footwear maybe? It was a while ago) previously trying to reset but the battery pull is obviously a more thorough option!

I do wonder if this is more likely a hardware issue than software at this point. All those "generic" and "unknown" error codes you kindly sent point to something that it doesn't understand, so not a regular error that has been coded into the system.

If I knew where to find the cable I'd go hunting with my multimeter! ?

If you really wanna FAAFO, then see attached. The APIM is easy to get to. The GWM diagram is so you can see the color of the cables that run to the GWM. Maybe they left a loose connection when they swapped the APIM? This you can easily check yourself.

Some awesome members here have signed up for an FDRS account and have offered to run VINs and show what module updates are available for their Mach-E. Those offers can get buried in a thread, and I thought a stand-alone post might get more attention and be easier to spot the offer.

Two forum members have been exceptionally helpful to me, and I want to give a shout-out and pay it forward. @kltye and @breeves002 answered a bunch of my silly questions as I purchased a Bosch MasterTech II and a PL6100 battery maintainer... and my 11 module update went flawless last night because of them.

For those that don't know, a Ford FDRS license can be purchased for as few as 2 days for $50, all the way up to a year for quite a bit more. I have a 2-day license expiring Sunday (10-10-21) evening. If you would like me to run your VIN, I'm happy to run as many as I can. In off-line mode, it will show what modules have a software update available. No codes or anything like that show since you need to be hooked up to the vehicle to pull them.

My thought is that since there seems to be a handful of us willing to purchase the 2-day FDRS license, it would be great to share the resource before spending the money to check for an available update.

If you are interested, you can post here or send me a private message with your VIN, and I'll send you a screenshot of your FDRS screen. Again, my license expires Sunday (10-10-21) in the evening.

If you have FDRS access and are willing to look up another forum member's Mach-E details, post in this thread with the time period that your license is active.
I made the mistake of posting that my 21 has been very reliable so of course tonight the service soon comes on. It says that an AWD fault has been detected and there is a fault with the high voltage system. It did not say stop safely soon and drove normally although I doubt it has full power, but I didn't check. My VIN is 3FMTK45X2MME04571. Thanks in advance.

@buddy3210 mine did that the other day and then on next restart updated to 5.1.1

My car always seems to throw an error just before it updates, and then it didn’t come back.

Is it still there?

You have a P0ADA code set. The cause is listed as "Hybrid/EV Battery Positive Contactor Control Circuit Range/Performance". Looks like HVJB replacement time to me.

I had an issue last night where I got into my car and tried to start it and it said "Stop Safely now" and wouldn't let me put the car in drive. I hooked up a battery tender and it showed the low voltage battery almost full (definitely not low) but after letting it charge for about 15 sec I got back in and tried to start the car and it turned right on. This morning the car also started up just fine after not having the battery tender on it over night. I have an OBD II reader so I hooked it up this morning and the following fault codes were stored-

My VIN is 3FMTK3SU5NMA37487 Would someone be able to tell me what could be going on with my car? Of course I'm slightly out of warranty at 39,000 miles so I'd prefer not to have to pay the dealer for a diagnostic fee.

Thanks for any help!!
