Any active ADAS will cause the car icon to be front and center so that the driver can tell at a glance just what the ADAS status is. The same as before they took the centered speed away.
Thanks, but a bit sad. For me when using ACC (my country has not allowed blue cruise) the car gives me no value. Whether or not ACC can be turned on is illustrated in right corner with a speed number that shows the ACC speed, while the car in middle screen is just seems to be forever static. If only it could be replaced with a small map icon, the speed or any other useful information, it would have been a nice little change.

Wife has the car today. But it says it wants to install PowerUp 6.8.
Yes, there are three sets of updates, each with separate numbering. All are still in use today.

The OTAs used to be called PowerUps and are now just called Software Updates. The 6.x series were the last to use the term PowerUp. They started calling those Software Updates with 7.x. From 7.x they jumped to 10.x.

At the same time, Ford issues Software Updates for single modules and Priority Updates.

Single module updates start with a module designation such as IPC or ECG.

Priority Updates start with a 2-digit year followed by PU, such as 24-PU0301-BLM-PE.

Lots of previous updates have been proven to be prerequisites for other, later updates.

Deciding you don't want a specific update because you may not like the outcome also means you may be opting out of other future updates.

You may be okay with that, but I just thought I'd reiterate that for those who may not know this.

Some updates will happen even if you try to opt out. You'd have to disconnect the communications module to prevent those.

Yes, understood. My car has been frozen in time to avoid the speedo issue. Yes, it was that important to me. The last update it had was 6.7 (by choice). You know, the frunk update. But with the promise of a new TSB and confirmed appointment, I just let 6.8 install.

It's going to be a long week staring at this...

If it looked like this from the beginning I think we'd be fine, but man I miss the speedo in the center. The cool little unbridled orange surrounding it as I speed up.... I'm excited for the change back for sure.

@Ford Motor Company you turned my smile into a frown (actually more than a frown).

I intentionally did not update my car beyond PowerUp 6.7 because I explicitly did not want all the problems that came with the BC 1.3 updates. Now that you have released the TSB to resolve those issues, I booked a service appointment to have the updates applied and allowed my car to perform all OTA updates in advance of the appointment. I now have BC 1.3 installed and am the owner of a car that thinks it is traveling 1 MPH while sitting at rest in Park. My dealer just called in advance of my appointment tomorrow morning to advise me this is not going to be covered under any kind of warranty and that the repair is going to be $900!!

In the 4 1/2 years I have had this car, this is the absolute worst experience I have had yet. And I am a victim of the 12V battery silently dying fiasco locking me out of the car. The dealer had to literally break into and damage my car to resolve that one.

I am not blaming the dealer for any of the above. This entire mess is of Ford's doing. Customers and dealers should not be caught in the middle of this and deserve a better response.

Hi MailGuy, a future OTA will be delivered to your vehicle to resolve this problem.

You must still be behind on some OTAs. We all had that silly 1 MPH quirk for months, before a subsequent OTA fixed it.
