This!
Having operated various machines with hydrostatic drive from lawn mowers to tractors to skid steers to track loaders, 1PD seems totally natural to me.

Hmm, maybe that is why I picked up on 1 pedal easier than I thought I would. Drove a riding lawn mower from about 10-20 years old.

I might have to give it another try when my Wife isn’t in the car with me but that doesn’t seem to happen very often! It kind of felt like the parking brake was on backing out of my driveway.

When I test drove the MME, the salesman actually went into the menu to turn off 1-pedal for me when I started the car. I told him I've been 1-pedal driving for nearly 3yrs and he can leave it on. I love 1-pedal driving, but I understand why some don't. Friend of mine has both a Taycan and E-Tron and he hates 1-pedal drive. The first time I experienced 1-pedal drive was in 2018 when I test drove a Model 3. I was used to it by the time I exited the Tesla center and the rep was quite surprised. She said people usually take longer to adjust to it.

It sure does lol, exactly how I felt when Tesla added the hold mode to regen braking, where it'll actually bring the car to a complete stop like it is with the MME. Tesla also left in roll mode as a selectable option, but with roll mode the car will not come to a complete stop. With roll mode regen braking lets go at 8MPH or so and you'd have to apply the brakes. I do wish Ford would have a selectable option.

1pd reminds me of riding a motorcycle. Use engine braking and roll up to stops slower as to attempt avoiding putting your feet down.

Even with 1pd off I have noticed that the vehicle only coasts at low speeds. At higher speeds it still feels like it regens when I let off the gas. Anyone else notice this?

I'm unbridled and engage there's some Regen. Whisper will coast like a normal ICE in my experience.

So the Ford is my firs EV, I've never driven it without 1Peddle enabled, haven't even test drove one with it off.

This morning I get into my car, put it in reverse and let off my foot while I was trying to get my CarPlay to load. Next thing I knew my car was zipping out of the garage!!! I stomped on the brake because my car is a pretty tight fit and did not want to rip off a mirror. Little shocked, I let off the break again and sure enough the car was rolling back at a pretty decent pace.

Some reason 1 Peddle got turned off, I also noticed my adaptive cruse control was set back to 3 cars vs the 2 I've had it set to. Also noticed that the backup camera is doing this weird jitter/lag thing in the video that makes it pretty difficult to use.

Wondering if maybe I got an OTA update??? Is there a way to check? I really dislike things getting shut off without any type of warning, especially features that control the way the car is driven.

I also always use 1 pedal, but tried turning it off when backing up. I felt like the reverse creep was really strong so I decided 1 pedal still is preferable in reverse. Seems like you might think the same thing.

The other day when getting on the freeway, I changed from Whisper to Engaged. Somehow doing that turned off the 1 pedal, which I didn't realize until I let up on the accelerator and the car didn't slow down like I expected. But I had made a change to the driving mode, as opposed to your car sitting in your garage.

At first I did not like the 1 Pedal when parking as I was too used to letting off the pedal all together to coast into a spot. So the first few times I parked it was a bit rough and I was not sure if I could keep 1 Pedal on. Now though I can back into a spot as smooth if not smoother than an ICE car. It really comes down to understanding the car and having a good feel for how the car moves. I feel the reverse creep when you fully take your foot off the brake to be a bit much. Car really wants to zoom away with no brake.

And yes, I have seen a few people say if they change modes it will change the 1 Pedal setting. Only thing I can think of is if my car did not load the right driver profile. I'm the only driver setup on the car, my seats were set right, and my radio presets were correct so I'd assume it was on the right profile.

I think a motorcycle is a good analogy because of the motorcycle throttle's spring return. Once you let go, you will be slowing down (or stopping) - ignoring the transmission for a moment. :)

The settings don’t cross over between drive modes, it’s not just 1PD, e.g. the propulsion sound setting is like that too, any setting showing on the drive mode screen I believe is specific to whichever drive mode you are on.

I believe that was done intentionally with the expectation that people would want to drive differently between drive modes, for example, 1PD on with Whisper, but not with Engage, propulsion sound on only in Unbridled, etc.

This has not been my experience. All of the settings on the Drive Modes page are independent from the others on my vehicle. If I change from Unbridled to Whisper, I stay in 1PD, etc.

1-pedal reminds me of driving a manual transmission or a motorcycle. Both decelerate when you let off the throttle. I also drive with hand controls so it is very helpful and much smoother for me. I onlt need to use brakes if I need to stop short or on a very steep hill.

How does 1PD compare to what Prius drivers (like me) do in that we attempt to hit lights and stop signs by (mostly) coasting rather than braking (until the end)? For those who know what I'm talking about?
