I'm a newbie machE owner with just 350 miles on the clock... but loving the experience so far. Just wanted to comment on a significant driver behavior change I've seamlessly adopted... surprisingly! When I first began test driving various EV's in the market, I was introduced to 'drive by wire' or 1-pedal driving... which I literally hated. It felt abrupt, unnatural & a counterintuitive manner of driving. But then as I 'learned' that driving an EV like other internal combustion cars is very different when it comes to deceleration. Specifically, it doesn't slow down as quickly... not nearly. So it seemed more of an accelerate & then brake harder & more frequency than I was comfortable with. So what the heck, I thought I'd give the 1-Pedal approach a shot. Now I'm a complete convert. So much smoother & better than any other manner of driving I've ver done... and I've been driving for 40+ years. The only time I'd switch the driving mode back is when on the highway. So give it a try for driving around town in your machE. You just might surprise yourself as much as I did. I'm a convert for life, now. And as a premium benefit, I significantly increased my range by 10% so far (yes, it's early) using the 1-Pedal drive mode.

Same here, I love 1 pedal. So much that when I take our ice van out I forget and for a split second wonder why it isn't decelerating. Also, at red lights I forget I now have to keep foot on the break. I have become spoiled by the Mach E with only 879 miles on it

I love it too. I don't want to drive any EV that does not have it. I was disappointed to learn that my Dream EV that I plan to buy next year does not have 1-Pedal driving. I hope that every EV company adopts it as at least an option one day.

I'm also a 1-pedal fan and had been using it for five years previously in an i3. Until I joined this forum, I didn't realize that many people didn't like 1-pedal. But it's nice that the Mach-E gives you a choice about using it, which the i3 didn't.

That said, after two weeks I'm only about 90% of the way adjusted to it since the 1-pedal drive is more aggressive than the i3. (My wife, who drives the MME less than me seems to be 100% adjusted.) I'm also not sure if I like 1-pedal in reverse, which it didn't do in my previous vehicle. I have a very steep driveway and it feels weird to step on the accelerator when going down a steep hill. But yeah, I'm a fan and I resent having to use the brake in an ICE car.

Drive by wire isn't a synonym for 1 pedal driving it just means replacing mechanical connections with electronic controls.
My mistake. Thought I’d was used to describe the same functionality. Thx for the clarification.

I drove stick-shift for my entire life -- even owned the very rare MT Cadillac CTS, which was my last non-plug in vehicle. I detested automatics for their "coasting" when letting off the pedal as I used downshifting all the time to slow down--felt more "in control" on the road.

1-pedal was the natural evolution (for me) of a former manual transmission junkie. It's awesome.

The only thing I miss and have not quite "figured out" with the MME is how to get that "just right" spot in 1PD where the car will "coast" a bit (like in reverse). It is a little touchy there. I actually think 1PD OFF and LOW on is a lot smoother -- like 1PD "lite"--although you won't be able to come to a complete stop with it and I haven't verified whether the brake lights come on yet in LOW.

i like 1 pedal mode but still leave it off with whisper mode. more efficient to coast than to try to regen.

also 1 pedal mode doesn't do anything when you have cruise control enabled.

I’m with on manual. Driven many of my cars with manual. Heck, I’ve got my ‘68 Vette 4-speed to fall back on when not in the MME. How’s that fir contrast! Good luck.

Anyone who’s ever driven a hydrostatic transmission has an innate understanding of One-Pedal.
This!
Having operated various machines with hydrostatic drive from lawn mowers to tractors to skid steers to track loaders, 1PD seems totally natural to me.

I think you got your MME on the same day we did? ( 6/30) We are currently at 855 miles on ours.
