Yeah I’m always accelerating fast and driving hard. Living in San Diego so weather never gets that cold. Need to just slow it down I guess.
You only need to slow it down (assuming you aren't driving like an irresponsible monster anyway) if you need more range than that. I wouldn't change my habits just to get a higher number. It doesn't have any impact at all on how far the car actually goes. Like, if that number said 180 when you start the car, and you got on a huge oval track and just did 55 MPH, you would probably go about 260 miles if not further. If you immediately charge the car to 100, and it said 260 miles to dead, but you go back on that same track and do the oval at 80 MPH constant, you would probably run at after 200 miles. It just doesn't matter. So if you aren't driving 100+ miles a day without charging, I would just drive it and enjoy it.

Drive as you would normally (assuming you're not endangering anyone) and enjoy. Then just charge when needed. Or as 50% of the EV owners do charge every night (90%) recommended and don't think twice!!! Just enjoy that instant torque and chuckle as you pass your buddies at the Gas Station.

You're joking right? C'mon man nothing is wrong with his battery and we can all post wild numbers that don't mean anything. Also cold doesn't increase range.

Your GTPE with an EPA of 260 isn't getting 276 at 80mph on a flat freeway.

I do not drive 80 but doing quite a bit of hilly 60 and GOM is around 260 at 90%. 22 GT. Now in the winter sub 200! I would imagine it would drop drastically if I drove faster which I would if the limit was over 55! What is your average mi/kWh? I find that more important than GOM.

I don’t know that. I’d have to find out.

So why are you surprised that the range is so low? Was your expectation that it wouldn't change?
I didn’t think it would drop that much.
I guess on long trips I’ll have to drive way easier.

You are definitely going over 80mph lol.

When I owned a GTPE, I was consistently seeing 220-225 GOM miles at 100% charge with 80% of my driving at 65-70mph here in flat warm Florida. On road trips… that would plummet as I would drive near 80 also. I would loosely estimate every 25% I could drive 45-50 (road trip) miles on the highway which is between 180-200 miles of total range at 100% charge.

The main factor may be tires. The original Pirelli’s had an issue so I installed Continental ExtremeContact RX.

I have taken a couple trips from Sacramento to Long Beach - 400 miles - in my GTPE. As long as I’m leaving immediately, I charge to 100%.

I have to charge once midway and I arrive at destination at around 20% SOC. I’m 72 and I don’t drive like grandpa. (I drove Cannonball in 1973.) 75 to 80 depending on trucks .

I5 south from Sacramento to LA, 75-80 is driving like Grandpa and constantly being passed. Driving that stretch at 95 I'm mostly going with traffic, but still get passed frequently.

75 to 80 because I'm getting slowed down by the D&#@ trucks. ;)

Still get at least 240 mile range.
