If you own a 2021 GT or GTPE, have you ever had SSN or SVS due to a HVBJB failure?

Did they say for sure it’s the HVJB?

Not all SSN are HVJB related. Although that is one of the big reasons.
I have not heard confirmation yet from the dealer, though the call I got from Ford central 10 minutes after the SSN message suggested it probably was. Doubt it was the 12 volt, as alarm went off when lifted for tow, and the doors and lights were all still working when I left it at the dealer. Dealer has had it 3 full days at this point, so suspect I would have heard from them by now if it wasn’t, but you’re right, I’m not 100% sure. Sure hope that’s what it is.

I'd be curious the number of failures for those manufactured after the ~June 2022 "fixed" date. I would hope it's an improved rate, but I see many post June 2022 that also have the failure.
The TSB (23-2257) from last month outlining the replacement parts refers to cars built prior to March 17th, 2023, so I’m not sure that June 2022 date is solid for upgraded contactors. Who really knows how many original batteries they had piled up in parts inventory before the upgrade?

Has someone posted that TSB?

Did you ever receive any definitive information that the HVBJB’s were beginning to fail or that the software may be too sensitive? I can not remember if you posted anything or if any of your new parts failed throwing SSN versus a warning with SVS.
My first failure was the SSN message and the car was bricked. However, that was before the recall to apply the software to warn of the impending failure by setting the SVS message. After the software was installed, the SVS light came on each time and the car was still drivable until I could get it to the dealer for repair. The last failure did first throw the SSN message, but after a few key cycles of truing to get it running the SSN light went out and the SVS light came on and allowed me to drive the car to the dealer vs a tow.

I never had the opportunity to fully test out the latest software since that was installed after my last failure. I do wonder if making the software less sensitive will result in more SSN messages vs SVS messages, but I guess only time will tell.

Just changed my vote above- Got my GTPE back today with a new LK9Z10C666BRM (from TSB 23-2257, August, '23) Junction Box. Whole process not too bad with my dealer- 9/10 at noon I get the message of death in the car- Ford skynet calls me 10 minutes later and sends a tow truck to my garage on Monday the 11th. Dealer gives me a loaner car on the 11th. They do their own diagnostic and order junction box on the 13th. Box arrives Monday the 18th, and car was ready today, the 22nd. Compared to some of the nightmare stories I've seen here, feel like mine has gone as best as could be expected. I know this dealer for years (from my gas Mustangs) and they take pretty good care of me. Frankly, I'm glad it happened the way it did and that now it's done. This is the best part they have available today, so I'm gonna drive fast and fun and whatever happens, happens. Still loving my GTPE!

I wish you had included a choice that had the HVBJB replaced with the upgraded part and had a second failure. While certainly not definitive as to how sturdy the new part is I would find it interesting just the same. I know there are some failures but it is hard to get a feel for how many of the newer ones have failed versus the continuing failure of the older model.

I finally got around to updating the table with the two 2021 GT/GTPE failures reported since the survey started.

There are more who have answered "no" in the survey, but some of them are not 2021 GT/GTPE vehicles, and it is very time consuming for me to go through and validate if someone voted correctly. So, if you want me to add you to the list, please PM me or confirm with a post here that you have a 2021 GT/GTPE without a HVBJB failure. Then I will add you to the tracking list.

And if you get the failure and you are on the list, please let me know! Two people have dropped since it started, and both with SSN. That is not encouraging at all.

If I get the failure, I definitely want it to be SVS, not SSN. And I thought the software would catch most failures before SSN. So far, 100% miss rate for the software (in this poll of course).

@neutrino - I added a mileage column, so if you can let me know the mileage when you received SSN, I will update the table.

SVS and reduced power on 10/13/23, about 14,000 miles. First time happening.
Brought it to my dealer this week and they should have the part in a few days.

Just going off the poll results, there's still 54 of us with working original HVBJBs.
