I had a 2023 GTPE which I loved, until a corrosion issue ultimately resulted in Ford’s buyback. So for several months straight, I was driving my F150 lightning. They may as well call that car a Cadillac because the drive is as smooth as butter and it is dead silent.

I am now driving a 2023 GT. I feel like there is way more wind noise in this car. It might be that I’m just not used to it anymore. Maybe it’s that in the interest of cost reductions they stopped using sound damping glass, or maybe something else.

Thoughts?

Interesting...I have found my 2025 premium much quieter than my 2023, I am attributing some if to the lack of the pano glass roof.

Good point. I know that in 2023 not all maches had the same glass. Mine had some sort of sound logo (not just tempered). I need to look today at the windows. Both cars have the pano roof.

The Premium is going to be smoother than the GT. The GT is a much sportier ride.

I also read somewhere, so this is unconfirmed, the 2025 premiums had the sound dampening glass on the front windows as well as the windshield.

FWIW... my 25 does not appear to be louder than what I would expect. It is definitely quieter and smoother than my 2024 Mustang premium Ecoboost.

Does the noise mostly seem to come from the driver side rear view mirror? I had to shove some rubber in the gap between the top of the mirror and the a pillar. It's a known problem that causes an almost whistle noise. The rubber totally eliminated it.

My 2022 has tremendous wind noise. My 2022 Lightning is quieter. I complained to dealership in 2022, saying the 2021 had a fix. I taped up various places and it got quieter. Dealership did nothing, then I complained again before my 3 year / 36,000 mile warranty expired. They had me take it to a glass place, owner went for a ride with me, and said "yup, that's a Mach-E". He offered to replace all the window gaskets, I let it drop figuring they would just screw it up.

It's simply a noisy car as far as wind noise.

I am following up here. It turns out I am not crazy. I was traveling and rented a ‘23 Mache. Like my own ‘23 Mache it is a pretty quiet ride. And it had tempered, not laminated side windows.

Back to my ‘25. It is ridiculously loud. Sounds like wind, and road noise is more amplified. It starts at 25mph with a slight whistle. I am going to bring it to the dealer. I know there was a TSB for previous years to solve this.

I wanted to check again for anyone with a ‘25 that has driven an older one and noticed a difference.
