30k service $1000??!

With a 2022, you probably have at least few months before you need a brake fluid change, it’s at 3yrs not a mileage interval.

(Aside: I don’t know precisely when Ford and other manufacturers changed this from “inspect condition” of fluid for signs of moisture to a flat 3yr fluid change, but it appears to be a fleetwide shift, as my F-150 now also says it, and a few of my prior Fords also showed this change, plus I’ve seen it on other makes as well. I don’t love replacing fluid that tests as free of moisture in newer Fords since they‘ve made FDRS or a fancy scan tool a part of bleeding the system, which means even mechanically inclined folks are being pushed to the dealer for the service.).

The fact that they offer you a transmission flush knowing it was an EV (based on the line items) tells you everything you need to know.

You're being ripped off.

Brake fluid is at 3 years. Charger port doesn't need cleaning. Inspection and tire rotation is at most $50, most are less. Cabin air filter is every 20,000 miles and you can do it yourself.

Ford Dealerships are one of the worst parts of the MME ownership experience.

Ford Software is most of the rest.

They will call us to make sure we are okay with they price, before they do anything out of the ordinary.

Tell them to its a rip off and you are not okay with it. Talk to the manager. They should have got your approval before(for that price). Its their fault.

Thanks everyone appreciate the feedback. They were saying it’s a 4 hour service.
Manager even came out to talk through any issue I had.
The car has been pulled and back in my possession. I will service elsewhere.

I approved it but had a sick stomach as I walked away from the service counter so called another dealer who I trust about 1.5hours away to get a quote on 30k service. $64.95

Should have been a red flag when transmission flush was on the list and they took it off. They claimed this is what ford recommends at 30k

Don’t even let any garage sell you engine, transmission or any flush.

Fuel is the best cleaner for fuel systems, what don’t get cleaned and flushed by fuel don’t get shifted by some hooky snake oil in your tank - I have dismantled fuel injection pumps and injectors and anything stuck in there is caked and stuck requiring abrasive not chemical cleaning.

Good engine oil regularly changed contains all the detergents etc to handle cleaning inside the engine and you don’t want any snake oil loosening anything that might, just might, be caked inside the engine to leave it floating around in there to potentially causing another problem and WTF would the transmission cleaning flush be for?

There’s a magnet on the drain plug to collect the ferrous wear particulates and the non ferrous stuff - aluminium & copper settles or is suspended in the fluid you change, mine at c100,000 miles looked clean enough to drink if I was a transmission unit.

When they say no I simply tell them to do just what Ford specify in the service requirement.

Are you saying you approved the price before they actually did the servicing ?

In that case there is nothing much you can do now.

Inspect the wheels and related components for abnormal noise, wear, looseness or drag.

Inspect tires and check tire pressures.

Rotate the tires, inspect tire wear and measure tread depth.

Inspect brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, brake linings, hoses and parking brake.

makes sense to me. They need to put the car on the lift four times and remove the tires at least four times. This is going to take hours.

did they remove brake fluid from 3y at some point?

i saw the screenshots that showed it, so i asked my dealer to do it last month when i went in, but their systems didn't show it as part of maintenance and refused to do it. when i pulled up the maintenance schedule from my fordpass it indeed wasn't on there anymore...
