Actually, in Ohms Law V and E are interchangeable. E represents Electromotive Force. When I took physic, that’s how we were taught the formula.
Well aware, just needling you :D . It's clear some grew up with V=IR and some with E=IR. And let's not get into the whole debate of whether that's even the proper way to state the law (vs I=V/R...).

Hi,

I do have an order sheet which has Original MSRP on that date. I do not have purchase agreement signed at that time. They just took my deposit and gave me this order sheet which reflects old MSRP.

In my case sales rep kept telling me I am price protected and at last moment they are now saying price protection doesn't apply to Mach E. Interesting thing is they keep asking me if deal is void if they can't honor original MSRP. Their behavior is suspicious and makes me feel that they want me to walk away from deal so that they can make markups. I tried contacting FORD marketing but they kept telling me that dealers can do what they won't they can't help me.
Sorry to hear this, I'm sure it's stressful. I'm no expert but if I were in your shoes (and I hope in a few days I don't have to deal with this) here's what I would do:
  • Get in touch with the sales manager if you haven't already (and if need be the GM of the dealership).
  • Explain that you are well aware of Ford's policy on price protection for the Mach e, as discussed frequently on this forum.
    • There are some posts/threads where others have actually posted Ford documentation for this--you might be able to dig that up and show them.
  • Explain that things have gone smoothly so far and it would be a shame for you to go through with this purchase without purchase protection in place and walk away with a very bad taste in your mouth.
  • I would also mention that it would be unfortunate in that situation to have to provide a very negative review on the post purchase survey and to leave bad reviews of the dealership on websites (including here) but you'd have no choice but to do that if they want to dig their heels in.
  • Tell them you would also provide the feedback to Ford corporate that you had an agreement from them that they reneged on.
It would be so short-sighted of them to not sell you the car at the price you have listed on the documentation. They probably do want you to back out but if clear that you aren't they may back off. The bad press won't be worth the extra $2K to them (though if you back out and they can get an extra $5-10K maybe they wouldn't care). Keep us posted.

Thanks for all your helpful suggestions. I talked to sales manager today and I was told that Mach E doesn't have price protection. I dug up documentation I could find to support my claim and sent it over to them. Lets see if They budge. I will keep this thread posted so that everyone can be aware when their car arrives. In my case sales rep kept telling me I am price protected till last min and then now when car is 100 miles away they changed their stance. Please do not let that happen to you.

Woohoo!! Hope you love the new Mach-E. :)
I also don’t parallel park much but am decent at it after many years of practice. That said it would be fun to have. I’m not sure I have the time and energy to devote to the whole ForScan process. I’ve never used it so would need to start from scratch (assuming I do have the park assist module/hardware already there).
Does anyone know if the prep kit will be an OTA update? Or how does it work to get it on the car if we only have the prep kit? I really want it :/

I would be interested in this as well (4/11 build week here too), all i have seen are statements to the effect of "when the chip becomes available, active park assist can be enabled"

i have to assume it will be an added module that has a chip. Software is not on any type of 'Constraint' so has to be a hardware piece.

I've not used mine in 17 months, but now that they say they are taking it away feel like, Oh my Gosh, no way!!!!! kind of funny.

I talked to sales manager. They told me they are trying to reach out to Ford rep. Hopefully Ford rep comes through or I should say hopefully dealership communicates that with me if ford rep comes through.

From their behavior so far it is very difficult to trust dealership. They are behaving as if they don't care if I buy or not. Sales rep's behavior is condescending towards me and I can not do anything but put up with it since I want the car I ordered. I never thought I would be bullied by a car dealership when I am trying to spend ~55k on a car. unfortunately dealer is holding all the cards here. Ford needs to up their game to improve customer experience if they are to beat Tesla.

I even called ford marketing few times. they said there is nothing they can do to stop dealer from hiking price/charging more dealer fees or treating me the way they are doing.

I want to reiterate for folks expecting deliveries soon. please talk about your car MSRP well ahead of delivery so that you can prepare for all the documents you can show to dealer well in advance. if car is already at the lot you have limited time to prepare for the fight.

Sorry for the Norfork Southern NJ inside baseball; I have a weird change in status. Has anyone seen Oak Island in their travels? June 9th, I was unloaded in Port Newark, Elizabeth. I checked United Road Delivery/Receipt, and I DO see my car listed with a load number but no status (a good sign). My next expected notification was "Released Empty" in Port Newark, but I just got an update of Intermediate Arrival on train Oak Island NJ. (a few miles away) I did not unload; I took another train ride? is Oak Island deep storage in the bowels of Doremus. This is either really good or bad news. I'm still on the United Road system with no status.

I just got this as well. I'm thinking our cars are off the train, and the train is moving on. I think at this point we are just tracking that train car on its lifetime journey. But I don't know that's what I am telling myself.
