4/11/22 build week chat

Looks like this may have been a false alarm. I reached out to Ford via chat today. They said that it's still in production and that the 5/11-17 is the ETA to move to the next phase, which is shipped. Not sure why it takes several weeks to go from production to shipped, but it sounds like my dealer may have mis-read things.

From reviewing other threads, the Ford Chat folks seem to commonly misread the estimated delivery date range on the VVR (in your case, 5/11-5/17) as the estimated date range that you will move into the next status. I would actually trust your dealer more in this case. That said, the delivery date range is not necessarily accurate either! Hopefully you all start getting built and shipped emails soon.

Yes-- the faded ETA header at the top indicates estimated arrival at your dealership. But the Ford Chat folks often misread it as the estimated next status change date. As that VVR gets longer the ETA will probably stay relatively consistent. It sometimes does update. Unfortunately it's badly formatted and doesn't include headers but his ETA never changed the whole time (February 23-March 1). He got his car February 11.

I just looked at the build week chats of 4/4 & 4/18.

The 4/4 people look happy. Multiple cars scheduled 4/4, built 4/7, and shipped 4/13.

The 4/18 group looks like our threads one week ago. Modules are scarce, no one is happy but one car was confirmed as built. Someone is probably getting a 420 car

Our group is probably wrapping up or all built by tonight.?. How and when Ford confirms it's built seems out of synch from what the dealers see. We just need to get shipped now... ASAP

Don’t feel too bad. My Dealer enthusiastically said your MME is Produced! Then said it has a 13 June 2022 delivery?

Interesting development. Prompted by @NewGuy I got on the chat line with Ford as well today and got the exact same info about my build date and moving to the next phase mid May (which they interpreted as shipping). When I asked how long to the dealer she said she didn't have that info. But @NJ_MachE you have given me new hope. Guess I should schedule my ChargePoint install soon.

I spoke with my dealer two days ago. They told me my order was built 4/14 and gave an ETA for 5/22-5/28. I am hoping that is the actual estimated arrival with the dealer and not the time to move to the next phase. Batch 5303.

My theory (based on little) was that cars were built and shipped as the weekly batches completed but perhaps cars sit for multiple weeks and trains leave every two or three weeks; I'm sure the other build week chats have figured this out? The 4/4 built gang have had good fortune as they were chipped and shipped quickly. Some of their cars are already in KC. The Easter cars 4/11 & 4/18 and perhaps additional weeks might all be staged and shipped together?? Ford can use excuses like supply chain and Covid for overall production delays but their shipping model could be better; this is old school transportation. I'm sensing a process policy of "it will get there when it gets there".

It has been produced. It is currently in Ford Mexico Cuautitlan Assembly, EM. With an ETA of Jun-10-2022 for delivery to your dealer.

If that's the date they gave you, I would realistically expected it delivered the week of May 22nd. The ETA's are usually off by a lot, specially for California deliveries. The Premium I ordered was shipped and delivered within 30 days.

I was browsing my Ford Dealer’s page. They are showing a 2022 CA R1 incoming. I checked the window sticker, and it was in production 11 Apr, Built 12 Apr and shipped! Batch 5184 328/600 With a delivery between May 26-June 01. From what I read on the forum batch 5184 is the last of the 04/04 builds. My Select has been in production limbo since Apr 12. I wish I was on that train…..
