OK I am fully ready for the "what an idiot" comments, but I went driving around in my usual areas after the 4.2.6 update and I could swear it is driving smoother, and less bouncy, and I can very much notice a difference between Whisper and Unbridled mode in how it feels (the handling, not the suspension). Is it even possible to adjust suspension via OTA updates?
Steering and suspension in unbridled is different from Engage and again Wjisper. Much tighter

I wish we'd be able to fully customize everything. Let me have Unbridled's acceleration mapping with Whisper's steering feel and Engaged's lack of screen animation if I want.
I've always wondered why Ford doesn't provide this. Most sport bikes have this capability, known as "Ride Mode", so they wouldn't be reinventing the wheel.

In medicine, that's known as the placebo effect.
Or local public works finally did something. I somethings thing the ones that have a continuous bouncy ride problem have a infrastructure problem not a car problem and are complaining to the wrong people. I know of a couple of roads around here that are completely neglected. The car does have a solid suspension that does hug the road. Great on smooth roads not so great for 4x4ing.

I think a lot of what people feel in these situations is a reduction in front to back changes in pitch. This isn’t a suspension change, but since it manifests as a reducing in front to back bounce, it is often described as such.
You are saying it varies torque distribution continuously and that could be noticeable/felt? Are the rear wheel drive units noticeably smoother?

Now that you mention it, I felt yesterday like the regen in Engage (it's all I drive in unless I'm BlueCruising on the hway, then I'm in Whisper) was a little less "engaged". I'll pay a bit more attention today
And I thought it felt a bit stronger regen in whisper. Have no scientific data on that. I also feel it drives a whole lot smoother in whisper compared to unbridle ?‍♂

I definitely feel a change in the regen in Unbridled. The abruptness of the deceleration is significantly reduced and the overall intensity of the regen is diminished. I almost ran into the back of the car in front of me the first time I drove after the update. I have not tried other modes (nor could I tell the difference since I almost never use them). I also think the braking and the transition to braking from regen is smoother. I don't really like the change, as I need to use the brakes more, but I think it might also be a bit of a safety change as I've had many cars run up my backside when I was decelerating without brakes via the regen. Definitely not a placebo effect.

By the way, the brake lights come on automatically when on Regen to warn the drivers behind you that you're decelerating.
Both brake lights and Regen work together, seamlessly.

I'm glad to see I am not the only one noticing the change, although I was interpreting slightly differently, we're all talking about the same thing.

Just a follow up; yesterday I drove down to Portland and back, through lots of traffic (10 hrs driving in total) and got to fully feel the differences. Since there was a lot of traffic, I usually pop 1PD on when in traffic (man I wish there was a button to turn on and off 1PD) and even it felt different, enough where I didn't mind using it.

I also got to try DCFC for the first time since the patch. Of course I can't say whether the speed and reliability are due to the patch or due to EA enhancing the network, but I hit a peak of 160kWh at one point, and held steady at 120kWh under 50% and 115kWh over 50%, and no connection issues on the station I normally have issues with.

I installed 4.2.6 last night and now my saved charging location is not being recognized as the charge target showed 100% even though the saved location is set to 90%.

To try to fix, I deleted my saved charging location on Fordpass and did a 5% charge. The vehicle didn’t record the “previous location” so I wasn’t able to set it up again. It did show this charge in the “charge log”.

Is this a known bug with 4.2.6?

If 4.2.6 changes regen to make it less intense it could have something to do with the high-voltage battery components overheating fix in the release notes. By lowering regen a tad, you're probably lowering the temperature of the components a bit as well since less volts will flow through. Of course this would mean less efficiency, but time will tell if it's noticeable.

No. I'm saying that I suspicion is that what a lot of people (myself included) consider to be suspension bounce is actually front to back suspension rate differences that are (somewhat) exacerbated or ameliorated by retuning of the accelerator/brake/steering response. So while the (non GTPE) suspension is 100% manually tuned and therefore not directly impacted by software, the car's ride (at least as perceived by drivers/passengers) can be impacted by software.

This use to be the usual charging experience with EA almost a year and a half ago. Now in the SE, the charging rates at a good day don't go any higher than 85KW.
If what you saying is true, EA is upgrading their network in the West Coast first.
Mach Es have always charged at those rates you mentioned. The EA charging stations have become old and charging rates derated. NACS can't come quickly enough.

Up until the update, every charging session I had was around the 65-85 level, no matter which charger I used or what my start percentage was, so it was really nice to see 100+ numbers yesterday.

I had this exact problem and it turned out to be that Ford Pass app settings had changed so that under Charge Settings/Preferred Charge Times/Saved Locations the "use preferred charge settings" radio button was not selected. I clicked that setting and it worked correctly after that.

Hope this helps.

Good to know, I had always wondered about that, it is hard to see when you are driving. So I guess everyone coming up on my backside is a product of their bad driving and not of the lack of brake lights.
