My Mach-e arrived in Kansas City last night on a Kansas City Southern railcar to be off-loaded. It still has an 8/15 earliest arrival date at the dealership.

I called. They can only release shipping info to the parties in question (i.e., FoMoCo or my dealership).

Interesting. The info in my previous post was obtained by calling Kansas City Southern RR customer service with the RR car ID given to me by Ford Service. I've noticed at Ford Service some of the Service people are more helpful than others.

I just checked in with Ford Chat on the transit status of my MME. Last check, it was in Laredo, TX. Today, it's in Muncie, KS (near Kansas City). The following details were shared with me:

Any idea on how to manually track a Norfolk Southern railcar? And oh, I sure hope my arrival is on the earlier side of the estimate.

Yeah. I've had mixed luck. Like today I was told my car went from convey to rail and was taken off rail yesterday in Missouri, but no further update this morning. Mind you I'm in Iowa, so I have to believe it's any day now. I've never had luck with for service giving me rail car numbers or convey IDs. I've had to reach out to people that worked in Ford for more of that info.

Both our cars are heading east to the mid-Atlantic region. If I get any further info, I’ll let you know.

So did ford Chat give you guys rail# or do they just stop updating after it reached a certain point? Mine's been in on the ramp in MO since the 18th, heck cars have already been delivered to MN which is past my route that arrived there the same day. At least ford is still saying it will be delivered by the 5th.

So I poked a little more to ask and it seems like they will, but I got conflicting information. Yesterday the rep I called said it moved to convoy from MO and the text chat person today said it's basically still in internti MO and when I asked if it was on convoy just gave me my old railcar number. I'm sure they're just going between other people, but idk how much access to that data they really have in realtime.

I reviewed past posts here in the Mach E forums, and I found a simple way to check on Norfolk Southern's railcar status.

Call Norfolk Southern via 800-635-5768. At the menu -

Press 2 for Intermodal. Then 2 for tracing.

It ask for "equipment ID", I entered my Mach-E's railcar info. It asks for the letters first, so enter 8849 (TTGX) and then pound sign. Then it prompts for the numerical portion of railcair number, so just enter and press the pound sign. It then recites the last known location info.

For my railcar - TTGX96303 - the last status was yesterday at 5:57PM. The railcar is already in Columbus, Ohio!!

So my delivery date window just got delayed by 9 days. So much for getting the car this week. Stuck in MO waiting for delivery to Chicago burbs.

Norfolk Southern update:

As of last night, it was in Roanoke (southern Virginia). The automated speech actually said "Roanoke, Indiana" but that city isn't on a NS line. Based on a route map for NS, the line junctions at Columbus, and my railcar went south (through Ohio, KY/WV, VA) and its last update was last night Roanoke, 7:27 PM. That's a little over 200 miles away, so the next update tonight *could* be Manassas. From there, it's a short transport by truck to my dealership. I'm trying very hard to keep. my expectations in check, but ... it might be available for delivery to me by this weekend??

Is your rail car TTGX963903 or TTGX96303? I see you mention both in previous messages.

I probably fat-fingered the second one (five numeric digits vice six)

UPDATE - I was tracking the wrong rail car :-(

When I used the phone menu above, I entered the six digit number, 963903. The results advised my MME is on a flat car in Indiana. So ... it's not that close after all.
