Yes its quite insane, not sure who is running Fords logistics but they need to be replaced

apologies again to this group - but i figure someone here has experience with this:

i got a railcar # from ford chat, but CSX says there's no status for that car. is that normal in the day or two after the car is marked as "shipped" on the ford order tracker?

@astrorob Yes there is typically a delay / gap of 1 day i have seen between updates from rail lines.


CSX
1. Call the CSX 1-800-235-2352
2. When prompted for location or weight, press "1" on your phone for location.
3. When prompted for the car initials, say CN (or whatever initials you have) then wait for the next prompt.
4. When prompted for the car number, say 907048 (or whatever your number is)
5. When prompted for next car say DONE.
6. That's it; enjoy your updated status report.

thanks, yeah, i did all that stuff twice and got "no status" back. so i guess i'll try tomorrow.

edit: i just tried again, and it does sound to me like the voice recognition stuff is having problems distinguishing "A" from "K". it turns out you can type in a letter by typing the key the letter appears on and then the position (1-3) of the letter.

so AOK is 216352

regardless, still no status.

The eagle has landed! Picked it up yesterday. Premium AWD ER Dark matter grey. Love it so far. Pretty sure they just drove it from the railyard to the dealer? Not sure but it had 50 miles on it already when i picked it up. No hassle. Ford Options. Sales guy spent over 90 minutes explaining the car to me. Knew a lot but got some stuff wrong.

No, the sign that it’s almost there is that it will be dropped off at the railyard to be delivered via truck. Some dealers listed as soon as it’s produced to their website.

My wife and I finally picked up the car today. Our buying experience was somewhere in the middle. The sales person was great, but can't say the same for the finance department.

After requesting the itemized bill, we discovered that $5000 worth of accessories were included by "a honest mistake". We also had to ask about the $500 deposit made at the time of ordering to get it included in the down payment. I believe we would have overpaid if I wasn't being meticulous with the numbers today.

In the end, we had x-plan, 2.49% APR and $2500 Options rebate. We took the offer of 4 year/60k miles extended warranty, prepaid maintenance and yearly paint sealant for $50 a month over 4 years. I will have to do some research to see if all that is worth $2400. We just wanted to take the car home at the end. ?‍

According to BNSF's website, the average transit time to DFW is a little under 4 days from KC.

Yeah i dont know, i saw some people that took 10 days or so but i am definitely past 10 days.

also i dont think ford will update anything until its scanned at the destination so that can take a little time

I hope everybody gets their cars soon. I have driven mine for 11 days now and 800mi and absolutely love it! Worth waiting for 10.5 months!

You mentioned you signed on Dec 8th and the dealer put it in the "system" on Dec 13th. Did you get the "pre-Dec 8 pricing"?

i signed the pre-Dec 8 pricing on the order, which I was given Dec 7. But Ford increased pricing dec 8, and is apparently not reimbursing for orders taken that day. I paid the new price and have not followed up anymore. Just don’t have the time to deal with dealers.
