Clearing cache and data did nothing. I had to uninstall the old app and install the new app which required me to enter the auth info again.I only had that when I did not uninstall the previously one. I just cleared the data and Cache and reinstalled. All was good.
That was what I meant. I like to clear that old stuff BEFORE I go ahead and uninstall. Then installed new one. worked no issues.Clearing cache and data did nothing. I had to uninstall the old app and install the new app which required me to enter the auth info again.
The remote start on this widget works so much better than the FordPass app for me its crazy. I have had 100% success on the widget and usually have to hit the start button 5 times in the FordPass app to get it to go.For what it's worth, my remote start has never worked either. Makes testing difficult ?
FWIW, double-tapping the remote start in the widget a second time does the "add 15 minutes" function that FordPass has although you have no way of knowing without manually noting the timestamp when that 15 minutes is going to expire from the widget. The remote start on this widget works so much better than the FordPass app for me its crazy. The only wish I have is that the FordPass app knew the auto-start happened, unfortunately it doesn't so no option to extend.
I haven't tried the remote start for several versions. As Chris said it works just like the FordPass button. However, unlike FordPass, double tapping a second time adds 15 minutes instead of shutting the car off.
I didn't say it doesn't work, just that I didn't know what it actually does. The manual is confusing on this - says it "starts" the car, but it still subsequently needs to be "switched on" in order to drive it. What exactly is that supposed to mean? And why would an owner want to start the car, while having it remain "switched off"? What is that for?@phil @kennelh
You mentioned your remote start doesn't work. I used to have a similar issue. TDLR, Remote start only worked for me within Bluetooth range or within 5 minutes of parking. Does this sound like your case?
Ran the TCU provisioning routine in FDRS and that fixed it
Bingo! The purpose is to heat/cool the interior before departure. But unfortunately Ford explained it and made it operate as if there's an engine. So the widget seems to work for remote start, at least sometimes. Now I just have to figure out what, if anything, remote starting is good for. Maybe it's for running AC for a few minutes in advance on a hot, sunny day?
I have used remote start a couple of times when it was really hot or cold to get the climate controls started. It's not something I use often but it would be nice to have a quick way to do it. I am jealous apple Iwatch users can do it on their watches.I didn't say it doesn't work, just that I didn't know what it actually does. I did remote start today, using the widget. It reported failure, and then success on the second try. I checked the car in the garage and it looked and sounded like it had been started, but, as the manual hinted, would not allow me to drive till I started it again with a key inside the car.

You can program Amazon Alexa and Google Home to access your Ford Pass. Most anywhere in my home and in the office with my phone or device, I can say "start my car" after the initial prompt. I use it every day since I never leave at the same time.I have used remote start a couple of times when it was really hot or cold to get the climate controls started. @zhackwyatt is having a similar problem and we're working to get some logs to see what's happening. Have you disabled battery optimizations for the app? Can you grab the logs and upload to GitHub or DM them to me? If so, try this sequence:Has anyone else had issues with automatically refreshing? If I launch the widgets app and request a refresh, it generally works fine. But I have it set to auto-refresh every 15 minutes and that never seems to happen. Android 11 on a S21+ Ultra running latest version of the widget.
Beyond that, the app works great and commands to the car and status are always good, just no auto-refresh.
