First, let me say I do really enjoy my mach e. I believe there are a lot of people overly critical of a first gen car in this forum.

However, I was without my car for one month for the junction box fix.

Now about 2 weeks later I'm here with. A frunk that is stuck in the half opened position. The first latch has released and the second hasn't. All because I wanted to keep my groceries colder in this Minnesota sub zero weather.

I now have to drive this thing home with it beeping at me the whole time. 2,000 miles out of warranty and pray that in the slippery hell scape that is MN right now the hood doesn't magically decide to open.

Called the dealer and I can't get in until Saturday next week.

This is a vent and I know that. I'm just hoping Ford does do as it states and ups some of those basic quality control things

Edit: would be less upsetting if I had used the frunk more than 20 times

Just to pass on what another person shared - did you have your door all the way open and pull the release fully twice? My guess is this is not the issue but just sharing what I read the other day.

IIRC, the last time I read about this on the forums someone had to pull very hard upwards on the hood while another person reached inside the Frunk and around the back of the latch to release it.

Let us know how this works out for you please.

Have to get something in the latch to open it. The latch then needs to be replaced. Did see those posts too

This is risky, but you could try pushing down on the hood to fully close it, and then try pulling the latch again. Try both the handle and the power release from the screen. Maybe it's frozen so you might try a heated garage too.

At least the groceries aren't going to spoil in this weather...

Tried those things. I had assumed it was just the freeze. Even getting back into the garage and getting some hot water on it didn't change a thing. I have an appointment Weds but based on what others have told me it could be a few weeks before they can fix it.

If they can at least get it secured I'll be fine without it while I wait for the part.
