Blue Cruise Discontinued?

I just noticed that when I put the car it Blue Cruise it has an icon that shows 2 hands on the steering wheel. This is new to me as I rarely use Blue Cruise anyway. Does this mean that they discontinued my hands free portion? My car just had its 2 year anniversary and I can't remember if I had it for 2 or 3 years. I never received a notice if I wanted to renew it for a fee - which I wouldn't. Can someone please explain?

It would be easier to answer your question if you had the year and trim of your car in your profile.

I don’t know how to change my profile. However, it’s a 2021 premium if that helps you.

I'm thinking that Ford may have discontinued BC, as evidenced by Ford's failure to push BC1.4 OTA, and refusal to provide any updates on the matter.

Hope I'm wrong, but doesn't look promising. Maybe @Ford Motor Company can set me straight!

Go to your connected services on your ford accout online and make sure your subscription is active. Are you on a BlueCruise capable road? Hands-on the steering wheel icon doesn't mean hands free is gone, just that it is currently in hands-on mode. There are several requirements for it to go hands-free.

Also, doesn’t your navigation subscription need to be active as well? Mine just renewed and I noticed my BC was inactive till I paid up.

If you send them your VIN, they will send you to the dealership to ask that question.

Nope. BC Hands-Free still works with an expired Connected Navigation subscription.

If it’s a Job 1, your BC likely expired at the end of 2023 (but can be renewed for $600 for another 3 years). If it’s a Job 2, you would have paid for 3 years as part of the purchase price.

In the Ford app check under connected services. You can check if BC is still enabled, renewal options for you. While you are there, you can see the other subscriptions that might be close to expire. Like on board maps, Alexa (whoever still users that feature) and the Connect and charge option.

When I look in Connected Services, it just keeps saving "Gathering Data." and never finishes. There's a gray bar at the bottom that looks like information is loading but it just doesn't finish. One of the items in there is "Ford Blue Cruise" but it just describes it.

I have a 2021 Premium (Job 2) and my BC works just fine. Try cleaning your windshield if it was working before and not now.
