Whoops, sorry, you're right it's 3,500 not 7,500.

I'm not sure what gave you the impression that I'm not aware of the Ford/Tesla announcement. I'm talking about Blue Oval, and fast forwarding to mid-2025 when my Blue Oval trial expires. At that time why would I pay for this service when Tesla is already deep into opening up their Supercharger network?
Because the Ford arrangement gives you access to 12,000 superchargers, plus 3,500. If you don’t have BlueOval, you don't get the 12,000...

Yeah. "At least 3,500" is a pretty big number IMHO, and that's all I meant by "wind out of the sails" of this Blue Oval feature. If it were as simple as "you need Blue Oval to access any Superchargers" that would be pretty compelling. But in 2025 the situation be more complicated than that.

Not following you.

In early 2024, BlueOval Network will have access to 12,000 Superchargers.

By end of 2024, all CCS vehicles will have access to 3,500, assuming Tesla keeps its deal with the administration.

If you want both, you need BlueOval Network.

It wasn't Loves and EA. It's a joint agreement involving Loves, EvGo and GM. EvGo doesn't have much money. so they've issued more stock in the past several weeks to raise funds. I would guess the lack of funds is why the Loves/EvGo rollout has been slow.
Well, shit. They can keep that then lol.

Since the very first Mustang Mach Es were delivered to customers in late December 2020, how could you have had your car for 3 years? ?
I'm saying the expiration date hadn't changed. Not that I'd reached it.

And, I should delete the comment because, actually, I've never had a date for the BlueOval network.

My brain translated it to "Blue Cruise" because that'd been a topic. I'm old. Get off my lawn.

First, I think we have to use "assuming" in both of those statements. Ford isn't exactly known for meeting their dates. Who knows when this will actually be a reality.

And to further clarify my comment, it's simple: when my trial ends in 2025 I don't expect I'll be interested in a Blue Oval paid subscription to access additional Superchargers on top of the 3,500+ that we'll all have for free at that time.

Just got an email giving me the wonderful news that I've been granted an extra (now totaling 3) year of free access to the BOCN. So I'm pretty excited about that. I mean, wow.

So, some questions:
1) What, exactly, would I lose if my trial had expired instead? Is it anything that I can't replace, or perhaps improve upon, by getting an EA subscription?

B) How much would paid network access cost, if I weren't 1 year into a recently extended 3-year free trial?

Finally, did everyone else get this email, or do I just have a guardian angel up at FoMoCo? I mean, I've watched Ford vs Ferrari at least 3 times, and my first car was a Ford, so it's reasonable to guess they think I'm a pretty special customer.

Fourth, anyone else feel like there's stuff the car can, or could, do that are kind of cool, but that you're never going to use, even if you spent the time to go find them? Things like this make me think of that. This and the NBC apps disappearing, which is really spooky because I didn't know they were there in the first place!

What I'm getting out of all this is that the network doesn't currently do much for you, and Ford doesn't have much in the works to make it worth paying for, so they're keeping it free until someone comes up with something useful to do that they can charge for.

Tesla has already committed to opening up "at least 7,500 Superchargers" by the end of 2024. Kinda takes the wind out of the sails of this Blue Oval feature IMHO.
I thought we were going to get CCS-NACS adaptors so that we could use ANY supercharger, not a subset.

But does it????

Some of us who have the EA BlueOval Membership have a different date for the balance. So, we have 2 expiration dates. Since I've used all of mine I have no idea if it actually got extended or not.

Yep. That's what happens when they limit it to EA chargers in places that EA doesn't exist. The first station in VT has been "coming soon" for over 2 years.
i did a road trip from NYC to VT, the VT portion was a pain...
