There's no way I would consider adding 'exhaust notes' to an EV, especially for $1600. But if I did I would want :

- to be able to plug in a sound sample of my own matching throttle % & ground speed so that 'shift points' could be introduced for fake rpm equivs. or maybe buy and download your favs..... like a Jag xk120, or a 12-cyl Ferrari, or whatever.

- actually two samples, one for accelleration, and one for decell and 'downshifting' at ground speed setpoints. Ya gotta get both the high vac load sound, and the burble decell sample

Don’t forget the farting while running sounds. These could increase with speed and throttle %. Maybe even a gurgling/shart sound at the end when you stop at a stop light.

You have too much faith in us, we don't even have a target demographic......
Don't stop what you are doing! I hope you make a crap ton of money. It isn't for me, but I totally respect those like the OP who want to do it.

tracks 2 or 4. they are clearer.

I'd do it as a novelty for sure ... but $1600...usd? nope.

competitors will follow at half that price which is still 4x more than what it should sell for, and they will be laughing to the bank.
Borla IMO has jumped the shark on this offering, and gouging its customers.
You could play the clips?
I can’t.

I think they missed a real opportunity here with some detroit 2 stroke.

Just imagine if you will for a second, the worst shopping cart winged rice box fast and furious fart can shitbox. This is the EV equivalent. I've got 2 fords with disconnected PACMs, and it's hands down the best free mod you can do.

Good stuff! Thank you!

The sounds we're creating in our Mach E kit are actually not coming from "samples". Instead, we're using modeling technology. The most important distinction between sampling vs modeling is that modeling actually generates the sound, in real time, from scratch. Sampling uses prerecorded sound files that are played back.

Through our app you will be able to modify shift points to your liking, as you requested.

Regarding your desire to download your favorite sounds, through our app you will be able to download hundreds of different sounds. From iconic internal combustion vehicles, like the V12 exotics you covet, to futuristic, sci-fi, non-ICE sounds you've never heard before. All tied to the driving dynamics of the vehicle.

Also as you requested, nuances of acceleration, deceleration, downshifting, going hard in to a corner, coming hard out of a corner, going up hills... every possible driving condition is accounted for and gives you the excitement of the aural feedback you're excited about.

Based on what you've written above, you're going to love this.......

If I had it (which I don't), I would use it at an EV event as a gag. Or, the auto driving show where all the cars drive a circuit through downtown, revving engines. Not in daily driving. But at their price, would never consider it. And I agree, having this on for regular driving is noise pollution. Eventually police will ticket an EV for doing this.
Seems to be a lot of money to spend on something that you would only use a few times during auto driving shows.

I would guess that the vast majority of people that buy this would leave it on all the time. Or at least until they get bored of it.

while I can appreciate the tech... no, I will not be buying it. I have zero interest in adding 'exhaust' sound to my Mach-e.

My comments were made just guessing what others might want. I do have fond memories of what some of my fav performance cars sounded like... personal fav was my '66 Sunbeam Tiger with Ford 260 bored out to 289, big cam, headers, and straight thru glasspaks... but those days are gone and the Mach-e is an SUV, not a performance vehicle.

As far as auto-shows go... my fav EV is my '94 eMiata conversion. I put that sucker in N, rev the motor, and the dc motor fan blows dirt out from under the car like a leaf blower on steroids with a big 'whoooosh'. Not many DB, but the crowd loves it.

I'm not gonna lie....it sounds pretty badass and this guys reaction at the :15s mark from a video posted last year by EV Sportline says it all.

He was casually walking by until the Mach-E "fired" up and it literally stopped him in his tracks and he started checking the car out........

My sound preference is a Ram Air IV. Good thing I have a stupidly over-sized one in my T/A. I like my electric car to not make noise other than its whirring and glugging noises. ??
Love the Ram Air IV's. My friend has TWO Ram Air IV Judge 4-Speed convertibles!

OP- Does the sound shift gears or just like a continuously variable transmission?

LOL The car in my avatar has a little 5 liter version in it. My T/A has a 9 liter version. Of course, the car in my avatar is worth 10x (probably more) what my T/A is worth. ??
