Yeah, it would be nice if it just stopped at Drive and Park...
Yep, one of the problems is that it doesn’t stop at all. I’m used to Performance ratchet or dual-gate shifters where it is impossible to over-shift. Bang it as hard as you want and it only goes from 1-2 or 2-3. It has a lockout preventing shift into R or P without interaction. The rotary shifter is a bad idea created by someone who knows nothing about performance driving. ??

Yep even worse on a Ram 1500, it's on the dash near the other Knobs...

for 35 years I have been shifting both manual and automatics without having to look at the shifter. Ever, including the Prius thing in my Rav4EV. This new thing is not intuitive and why should I or anyone else be forced to change something that has been a standard since the 1960's regarding automatics? The knob is stupid.
Yeah, what Zonie said! :p

either way if you like the dial shifter that’s fine, I’ve never had to do that and when you’re driving maneuvering the car he typically should be looking out the windows in the mirrors. It would be simply nicer if it had a hard stop at the park or drive position, rather than just spin around forever. But regardless I just don’t like Dial transmissions. I would rather have a column shifter for Pete’s sake.

No it does not. You’re quite capable of using both 1pd drive and manual braking during the same drive. There’s no requirement it be an either or thing.

Look at the knob while you turn it.
I’m sure I am quite capable, but I’ve noticed that adapting to one pedal drive has been different. In fact when I turned it off, I didn’t like it. And then when I went back to driving an ICE car with a normal automatic transmission, it was even weirder for me. I really like the positive region feel and the way that it drives in that mode. The panic motion of slamming on the brakes is still built into my muscle memory, but I don’t know for how long. Have a lovely day.

It’s still in a body shop. Initial estimates came in at 9K. Hopefully they get the parts on time. ??
2 months in and still no final estimate on the damage! they are waiting on a factory trained technician to arrive this week! FML

So just got a call from the body shop. Repairs are coming in @ 56K. He thinks insurance might just total it. Anyone have any experience with getting payment for totaled cars? This is my first time.

You must have confused that.

You have a Premium RWD ER. Your MSRP wasn't $56K, because my Premium AWD ER was that. Therefore, "might just total it" is absurd for him to say, because it's definitive.

Waiting for the adjuster to show up and see what he has to say! It’s been in shop for 3 months and having to pay for a car you not driving hurts. ?

I think there's a higher likelihood of someone thinking they are in reverse because of the stupid gear shift twisty thing and actually being in drive.
I've done that, thankfully without event. Not a great system in my view.
