There's nothing wrong with your Mach-E. The problem is you're living in Minnesota. #fail

Oh boy, here we go again!![]()
I’ve done a 180 on my attitude about the GOM. I no longer think Ford trying to give a real range estimate l, albeit a conservative one, was a good idea. The GOM estimates have caused so much consternation test I think Tesla had it right, just put the range at 100% as the official EPA estimate and leave it at that. Far fewer complaints up front. ?Maybe every October through March the Administrator should just have a pop-up banner on the website that says " Expect a 30% reduction in range during the winter".
But two threads at the same time for the same issue?!?!The "fun" part is that we are still very early in this EV adoption and these posts/questions will be coming for years. Maybe the EPA should post the Average Range in a Calendar Year based on the state you purchased the car in?
I think for all future threads that people post about range concerns, this is the perfect response. If we can get 10 forum members to post their fall/winter GOM range, it will help people see that there is nothing wrong with their car.
Repeated posts like this show me that dealerships don't do a good enough job of educating people on what they're buying.
This is true its because the dealers don't understand it. Salesmen don't understand it...service doesn't. The mechanics don't. People are having EVs pushed so hard but they don't understand some of the limitations of them....like reduced range in the cold. Same as a gas car but much more noticeable.Repeated posts like this show me that dealerships don't do a good enough job of educating people on what they're buying. Listen, I get it, you don't want to talk about the drawbacks of an EV when trying to sell one (or when someone has already made up their mind). But I would at least think that Ford should develop a quick list of things to know that everyone gets handed when purchasing any of their EVs to avoid upset customers/returns/these sorts of repeated posts.
In Palm Springs area, my GuessOMeter has hovered around 250-260 miles at 90% charge during 100+ degree days. Recently, with temps starting to dip into the low 90’s, the numbers are edging up into the low 270’s.Winter is coming to the Arizona desert, and my range has increased recently.
The other day it was reading 276 miles, at 80%.
200 miles at 100% on an ER? You driving like a bat out of hell up the sides of volcanoes in Hawaii, my good dude?
