Just to point out, there are many vehicles that have never had cabin air filters. F-150s for many years had none.

I try not to overthink it. I will change it every 20,000 miles as the manual states. No spray, no special filters. To each their own.
Yep. I jusr changed my (newer) F150's cabin air filter at 20k and it still looked pretty good.

I feel like 95% of the reason car companies added them was to generate additional service revenue...charging as much as $100 for a $10 filter and 2 minutes of work.

The only thing that K&N filter will clean better is your wallet.
Until you've washed it three times. Then it's free. ??

Sure, in some parts of the country with crazy commuter traffic. LA, SF, Denver, NYC, Boston.

Not when on I-75 headed south. Or driving on the Ohio Turnpike.

I'm not saying they don't help, just that using the new Ford filter and changing every 20k miles works for me.
Except that the Ford filter sucks in terms of removing smells.

I was one of the people annoyed that recirculation doesn’t stay on because I keep smelling stinky trucks in traffic.

Replaced the Ford filter with the pureflow one everyone uses here.

Now I don’t smell stinky trucks anymore. I was skeptical but willing to try it. It works! And I have a sensitive nose.

Heh, since my other cars don’t have filters, I won’t miss it. Besides, I think in the 4+ months I have owned the car I have maybe 40 minutes of HVAC run time, discounting preconditioning. Can probably multiply that number by 20 for precondition only time. ??

Just replaced at 1 year/11K with Pureflow. Old one was pretty dirty.

How much are these filters? I asked my local dealership what the price is for the Ford air filter for the Mach-E and they said it was $150 CAD (115 USD) or something like that and the N95 version that Ford released was going to be over $200.

This price seems insane to me and if there are great third party air filters available, I would rather get one of those and change it myself.

When I asked a local dealer's parts department for the price, he gave me a figure around $19 or $20 (USD) if I recall correctly. That was about 4 months ago. But they also didn't have them in stock, and the Pureflow was about the same price and is significantly better, so I went with that.

Check https://www.summitracing.com for their current price on the K&N. They also stock other filters. ??

I ordered a PureFlow directly from their website, and have gotten zero communication, just an order number. It was orderd 6/8. Really strange.

Can someone with a 2022 MME and has purchased the K&N, verifty that the VF3021 fits. K&N lists the 2021 filter as the VF3021 and does not list the 2022 MME. I am 95% sure they are the same but want to ask. Summit racing, lists the 2022 MME filter as a VF2078. Thus the question to the forum.

I just had a look at Summit Racing's site and when I looked up K&N cabin filter for a 2022 Mustang MachE the number indeed came up as VF2078. Searching Summit for 2021 the number is VF 3021. Both are currently selling for $35.99 USD. The 3021 is in stock, 2078 ships from supplier and the pictures look different, so I'm guessing the specs changed at the model year changeover. Would be interesting to see if the numbers are different for paper filters for the 2 years as well.

Meanwhile K&N still doesn't list a number on their site for a 2022 MachE as of November 2022. Go figure.

Not sure whether it comes from Summit with the cleaner and re-ionizer bottles. I still have those from the previous vehicle so that's not an issue for me.

The filter I bought for my 2021 did not come with cleaner or re-ionizer. I bought them separately. ??
