I don’t want to have to dial back the amps. I have been using this ChargePoint since I got the car over two years ago. I called ChargePoint and they ran a diagnostic remotely and said all is well and there are no codes. So, I think it has to be the car.

I hope the codes show up, because all it says on my phone is plugged in not charging and no notices when I get in the car and start it up.
trust me, I know how much this sucks…been dealing with it since august. It took this long for my dealership to get the part to fix it. They can see the codes as they’re very different than what we see in FordPass

I see two charger codes in your car, the first one P0D56:24 means the J1772 isn't latching fully. See here. Make sure you are pushing it in firmly until it clicks, and verify you see a blue circle on the charge port ring before walking away. Do not walk away until you see the blue lights.

You also have P0E5F:27 code which means your charge port is overheating. You likely need to have your dealer replace your charge port, otherwise the charging faults will continue. You should also inspect your J1772 prongs to make sure they aren't damaged, I recommend ordering a replacement J1772 cable from ChargePoint and replacing it at the same time you get your charge port fixed so you have new undamaged hardware on both sides of the connection.

Thank you very much for doing that. Sounds like it going to be another week with the dealer. I am glad that EVGo just installed a new station about 5 mins from me. I will have to use that until I can the port replaced. Might not be a bad idea to get a new cable. However, in other threads, it seems with the bad port, it throws overheating codes, but is not really overheating. Nothing ever feels hot when it clicks off and the red circle appears. Again, appreciate checking this for me. I can use this to get the dealer to help.

I was having random Charging Fault errors with my home L2 Wallbox. Dealer determined it’s the charge port lock actuator. Part is on back order right now but hoping to get it next week.

So you don’t have to get the whole port assembly replaced with that, I guess. That would be nice.

You can stick your finger in there and feel if the actuator is in the way or not. Below picture is an undamaged example in the fully retracted position.

If you get the overheat code, but it’s not hot, it‘s likely a failed temp sensor in the charge port. The fix is still charge port replacement, I think.

Ford Mobile Charger failed to charge last night for the first time. Charger light was amber as was the light around the J1772 connector. I conclude that the mobile charger unit failed which caused the connector light to turn amber. Ford Pass App did not restart charging. Circuit breaker had not flipped off. However, I flipped circuit breaker off then on to be sure it was reset. Removed the J1772 connector, then connected it again. Began charging.

No fault messages or codes displayed w/in the car. We will ensure the connector is locked in before leaving it from now on. It usually is, but that could have been the cause. No components were hot but we discovered several hours after charging failed.

I wish the Ford Pass App had the option to send auditory and vibration notifications. I could have fixed this immediately rather than when wife discovered at 6 a.m., expecting 100% charge but then not enough time to charge fully at home. Anyone know how to set such notifications? I could not find the option.

So I just got back from the dealership. They told me that the charging inlet needs to be replaced and it isn't covered under waranttee. Part number is LJ9Z-14A303-D. I begged to differ and they said to call Ford since it doesn't show up as a waranttee claim for the part number they need.

Tech notes read...

PERFORM SELF TEST IN ALL MODULE KOEO POE5F;00 IN SOBDM.
PINPOINT AND FOUND TEMP. SENSOR IN CHARGE PORT IS BAD.
VEHICLE NEED NEW CHARGE PORT/HARNESS.

Does anybody have any numbers I can call or other ideas? It's a $1700 repair.

Update - I reached out to Ford customer service and receivced a case number.

That is absolutely covered under warranty, this is the exact same problem I had (bad temp sensor) and they replaced my port and harness under warranty.

Be aware that replacing the port and harness is a pretty big project and a good chunk of the car needs to be disassembled. Take pictures of EVERYTHING before you drop it off as the techs that did mine put a few scratches in the paint near the headlight and tore the driver door seal when reassembling.

I also have a Grizzl-e and this started happening a few weeks ago. I can't get more than an hour on the charger before the car faults. Went out tonight after the third failure and charge plug was HOT. Uncomfortable hot.

I'm also waiting for a warranty approval on peeling paint. Not real happy right now.

That’s a problem, you probably need to replace your EVSE cord and have your Ford dealer replace the charge port. Things have probably melted. I would get on that ASAP.

I sense an expensive recall coming.
