A quick update: I didn’t pick up a new charger yet and have just been using the Ford mobile charger, but the extended warranty protection from the Amazon Prime Visa I used to purchase the ChargePoint just paid me the current full retail value plus tax on my claim (~$650). I just provided all the documentation requested, and it was a pretty painless process.

I would ride the mobile charger until it dies. Either it lasts the remainder of your MME ownership or you can at least delay a new investment until new features are available. In my experience, my Mobile charger sits in the trunk. Kind of a waste. Either I’m confident I can DCFC on a route or I borrow a car from Hertz. (I have yet to choose the latter, love my MME)

Your story of the the ChargePoint EVSE failing just weeks after the warranty expired is totally my story now (warranty expired on the three year anniversary of its install October 9th, today I get the email from ChargePoint that my unit has failed but here's your 10% discount ...).

Unfortunately I don't have that credit card purchase protection, so now I'm on the hunt ...

Sorry to hear you’re in the same boat. I ended up using my Ford mobile charger as my home charger as some suggested, and then I bought this charger to keep in the car:

https://www.costco.com/battery-tender-32-amp-portable-ev-charger.product.4000310558.html

It does 120V or 240V and has selectable amperage draw for both, so it’s more useful than the Ford charger when traveling. I’ve had a good experience with 12V Battery Tender products in the past, and then I have Costco’s generous return policy on top of that. I still have to send away my dead Chargepoint for the $75 that someone else suggested.

Watching. I already had to replace my Charge Point HomeFlex while it was under warranty. The wifi capability died.

Really poor customer service.
Same here, tonight in fact. But my experience with Customer Service was top shelf - no questions asked, just did a remote reset, asked me to try connecting to Wifi again (which it failed to do) and then said, well, time for a replacement. Easy.

Thanks. My ChargePoint is hardwired, plus I get a bill credit twice a year for allowing my electric utility delay the charging window, something that can only be done with the ChargePoint EVSE (apparently) -- it amounts to $50 credit/year, but if I'm having to replace this every three years I'm not sure it's worth it. Especially since the ChargePoint was bought when they were $700. I have a "dumb" EVSE at my rental and as far as I know that thing is still working just fine.

In the meantime, I too am using the supplied mobile charger (had to take it out of the plastic finally, lol).
