I have always charged to 90%, almost every day since purchase on March 22nd, 2022. A handful of days I might not have plugged in, a handful of days I charged to 100% prior to a trip. I have DCFC perhaps a couple dozen times, the rest of the time has primarily been L2, 24 amps, at home.

I don't pay that close of attention trying to time the 100% to the exact moment I plan to leave on a trip. As a result the car might sit for most of a day at 100% prior to a trip.

According to Car Scanner my high voltage battery is 16.89 months old with a state of health of 99%, I have 17568 miles on the car.

I charge to 85% at home and 90% at work, since work is ~5% away. I don’t charge daily, though, I just plug in once I get in the 40-60% range, which is generally 2-3x per week.

New owner myself. I’ve been charging to 90% since installing the home charger, based on what I’ve read on this forum. Congrats on the GT. CR1 owner here and some days I regret not getting the GT.

Quick question: If the car is set to charge to 80 or 90% at your home location, and you want to charge to 100% before a trip, then do you have to manually go into the charge settings to change them each time you want to charge to 100% or go back to a lower charge? My understanding also is that changing those settings in the App is not reliable either. Thx

Just to add to the chorus, I keep it on my L2 charger at home (ABC=always be charging), 90% daily, except Friday I charge to 100% so I am ready for a Saturday drive. 80% at DCFC

Oh, and congrats on joining the MME family!

Start the charging session, then click the button in the app that says "Charge to 100%".

Upper limit.

"Setting the" upper limit" to 90%.

On the Lightning, they set the default for DC fast charging to 90%, not 80%.

In some manuals, Ford says "less than 100%".

They also recommend leaving your vehicle plugged in.

People in general will never read manuals. They aren't going to follow a decision tree. They want simple. They want to be told what to do.

Charge to 90%, plugging in your vehicle every day.

Simple.
Considering the proven inconsistency between various versions of the manual on this when we know the battery Ford used didn't change, I'm not sure why we put so much stock in the manual on this, but I suppose it is a free country.

1) Matches what they say in multiple manuals, except when they say "less than 100%"...

2) Matches what they say on the web.

3) Cause I said so. ?

in the fordpass app, once you've plugged your car in and it's waiting to charge at designated time, you can hit the "charge to 100%" button. It'll only charge to 100 that time and will revert to saved settings next time you charge

Because you wanted a car that gets worse range than yours? ??

I charge to 85% on any night I charge. I used to charge to 80% but the battery would sometimes cool down and that 4th ring wouldn’t be illuminated any more. 85% gets me over 80% even after the car (or truck) sits.

I feel like I'm gonna get roasted, but on my L2 home charger I charge to 100% and have been since around 5000 miles. Frankly, my charge settings got reset to 100% and I just never bothered to change it back.

On road trips I usually DCFC to 80% unless going to 90+% actually saves me from having to make an extra charging stop.

I'm at over 16K miles now and my battery health is 97.5% according to CarScanner, which I believe is pretty close to in-line with what is typical for the mileage in the hellacious Texas heat. I'll monitor it and if I notice degradation starting to ramp up I'll change my habit, but I doubt I'll have the car that long before I trade it in.
