Do you have any suggestions for Home charging cable for the 120v,” outlet until I can get the 240 v installed? Just so I have a backup and can get some miles overnight if needed. I know it’s only 3-4 miles an hour but it’s something. Thanks!
I can't stress PlugShare enough . You'd be surprised how many free charging options are out there. I would caution/advise to under no circumstances go with some cheap Chinese knockoff. Those are what are causing the battery fires that you read about . Guy on YouTube breaks down all the different home chargers and the pros and cons of each. "State Of Charge"
Sorry I can't give you more than that but like I said I used the one in the car or the colleges. Hopefully when you look under the deck in the hatch area you'll have a mobile charger and all your worries will evaporate .?

If you have a electric dryer you can get a charger that will plug into that. I got a SplitVolt switcher and a Splitvolt charger that matched my dryer outlet in my garage. I think I have had mine take up to 11 hours to charge but that was 20% to 85% on that charger. I usually charge once a week but I drove about 45 more miles than normal when it too 11 hours to charge.

This might not apply for many of you but Consumers Energy in Michigan (our utility supply for home) will give their customers $500 for purchase of a home charging station. It takes a little back and forth with a few emails but paid for my ChargePoint charger. Check with your utility company to see if they have a program. I chose to have a professional electrician wire it up $530

Welcome and enjoy your new Mach-e!

I typed a wall of text, and then considered I could help you more by pointing out the magnifying glass in the upper right. There is soooo much information here. You might search for “home charging” to get all the great info on how to set up “home” in you Mach-e and what kind of J1772 EVSE (Aka home charger) you might want.

On the road, you may want to set up Plug and Charge, which works great with the Tesla network and Electrify America Network. With P&C, you just plug in the bigger DCFC cable, and the car negotiates with the network to charge your card on file with Ford when you set up P&C. If you have an iPhone, you can have the car feed battery information to your phone, and it will automatically. build charging stations into your route. Ford Navigation will also do this. So far, only Ford Navigation will warm your battery before you get to a charging station (“preconditioning”). Other Blue Oval charging stations can be initiated from the car, but you find it more practical to have that station operators’ app. I use ABRP and PlugShare for road trips and Apple Maps when it is just one stop to my destination.

it appears you're quite new to EVs so you might benefit from some beginner's guides to charging.

if you learn best by reading this is a good run through of a lot you'll encounter:

https://evbox.com/en/complete-guide-to-charging-your-electric-car

if you're a youtube learner this is a good guide:

these guides don't get into the issues around NACS/tesla transition but since we're in the early days it won't be a big deal, especially for your 2021 MME.

Hi All. I am now to the community. Just purchased my 2021 Mach e Select. Excited to get started I pick it up tomorrow. I am going to try to apply for the free fast charging adapter but do not know if the previous owner claimed it yet. If not can you suggest some adapters for sale on the market that I can buy to hook up to the Tesla super chargers? Does ford sell the fast charging adapter for a cost if I can’t get it free? Thanks All!
Jim,

Welcome to the Mach E ownership and to this forum!

My thread just below might be helpful to you for ideas. FYI our 2 year old Mach E has 72,000+ miles now and has crossed the country back & forth... I've used six or seven of the 9 plug adapters in my charging Go Box.

EXCELLANT POINT .Grab the rebates and/or discounts where you can find em.
Check to see if you can lock in a lower rate so you have a little more control over your electric bill . Im locked in at 7 cents per kWh for another 600 days .Set up a "budget plan" which will look at your prior years usage and divide it by 12 giving you the same bill in Jan as in August as in November. That way if you have a heavy charging month you won't need to worry about blowing up your finances the month that bill comes due.
Make a substitution somewhere to compensate for the charger use. I swapped out my microwave for an air fryer . Unplugged my Xbox and plugged in my charger . Easy swaps that keep my bills the same if not lower some months

I have the 23GT and which I think is listed as, j1772 ccs combo connector, was standard, No charge
Wow I asked my salesman if it would be a deal breaker if I kept the one I got with my 21 Select . He agreed to it . My 23 GT did not come with one and I did not want to pay $500 just for a "worse case scenario" travel charger .
I HAD to go and look at my window sticker ....I believe ( and don't quote me on this BUT) the J1772 connector is talking about the charge PORT. My sticker shows a "mobile power cord " as deleted and no charge . Sure glad they didn't charge me for something that they deleted from the order ?

Like I said, I’m pretty sure mine came with the car but if it didn’t I wasn’t charged for the only one I got charged for was the one I’m mounted on my wall for level two that was normally about 1500. They gave it to me I think for 700. But now I got two dealers that I’m happy with one, The one I bought the car from who takes care of me and to the other Ford dealer who works on electric cars. Since my car was under warranty, I said well it’s not getting over the updates. He said OK warranty issue. Bring it in here. here’s a While we got it if we keep it more than 10 days though you’ll have to pay for the $45 a day rental I said fair enough

Yeah the modems can get cranky and not allow OTAs. Happened in the 21 and now I have the Tesla update stuck in the 23 . Not much of a problem since I don't have the adapter yet .

When you say the Tesla one is that the one where you open up FordPass and you see plug-in charge you see Tesla with the checkmark or is it something different because I have that.

He's talking about the in-vehicle update to allow Plug and Charge for Tesla.
