What Chinese brand has solid state batteries hitting the market? It isn’t the one in your articles.

Because “plans to” and “hopes to……” I can refer you to dozens of companies with those claims.

An actual solid state battery car available for sale? Pretty sure it’s still in the “pipe dream” phase.
This doesn't appear to be a “hopes to” situation - it’s already appearing in manuals and they appear to be close to delivering on it. It could very well be a pipe dream, but there isn’t anything that proves that’s the case.

You asked me to cite an example of where they’re ahead of the US on technology and I did. It most certainly is a “I’ll believe it when I see it” situation, but from what has been established is that they do “appear” to be ahead of the US in battery technology.

They've been saying that years.

In terms of affordability and technology, yes.

FYI, I never meant that Chinese EVs are quite literally destroying US EVs in the US market. I meant that China is doing better than us in terms of advancement, technology and affordability in their own market - which is why I said they are destroying US EVs. I suppose maybe the word “destroying” was not a good word to use. Maybe a better wording would be “China is further ahead in terms of affordability, technology and overall advancement.”
Fair enough. I’m skeptical of claims that the Chinese are further ahead technologically. We’ve been through something like this before with other nations. That said, China is our adversary, so we have to be very cautious and pay attention to what is going on over there. Remember though, they don’t have a true free market system, so they’ll suffer the inefficiencies of central planning in the long run.

The Chinese also claim to have hypersonic weapons and 6th generation fighters.

I agree- I just think we’re not focusing more heavily on battery and EV technology which is making us look like we’re lagging behind other countries.

If they deliver a car with a solid state battery, I will happily admit they’re ahead of us in battery tech for sure.

But for now, it’s still a “I’ll believe it when I see it.”

Do they even have a full size working prototype?

Again, lots of companies have made huge claims with solid state, I just haven’t seen a single company deliver on those claims.
