So this is unscientific, but here is what I found. I noticed that I didn't have the little icon at the top of the screen indicating that the vehicle is actively "connected". I don't think that icon had been there for weeks. Remote start and lock in FordPass was working fine despite this. Sure enough, I go into settings-Connectivity, and when I click the "connected vehicle features" setting no options show up beneath it. I pulled fuse 11 for about 10 minutes, and that didn't fix it. Next pulled fuse 11 and 19, and that DID fix it. "connected vehicle features" then had the expected options under it and I could see the icon on screen at the top right.

Next I wondered if changing the departure time settings in FordPass would might work, since it NEVER has (may have worked ONCE), as now it appeared my vehicle was fully connected. I went into FordPass, added a departure time, and saved. Interestingly, at that moment my JuiceBox app notified my that charging had started. This happens whenever the MME pulls even a little bit of juice, so I thought that was promising. I Gave it a few minutes and went out to the car. To my frustration, the departure time did not make it to the car, the connected icon was gone, and the options under "connected vehicle features" were gone too. I pulled 11 and 19 fuses again, and the connected stuff was again back. This was last night. I didn't try to add a departure time in FordPass again.

This morning my connected stuff was still there.

Theory: Sending a departure time to the MME is crashing at least some portion of the connected features. At least in the version I have in my '23 premium, SYNC 4 software version 22280, revision 592. I haven't tried it again since I dont want to keep pulling fuses, but I bet sending a departure time from FordPass would make it happen again. I am sure Ford knows what is going on, but @Ford Motor Company please pass this info on to the devs, if you can!

Interesting debugging efforts, nice work.

Are you able to change departure times within the vehicle and have them stick? Like its just a FordPass sending them to the car problem?

I didn't try to change them directly in the car since trying this last night. I will give that a try tonight.

My icon comes and goes. I don't have to pull any fuses to get it to return. I would say it is somewhat more than 50% of the time that the icon is present.

Most of the time if I try to expand connected services when the icon is gone, it fails to expand. A couple times trying to expand connected services makes the icon appear and then it expands.

I am not experiencing any connected services issues whether the icon is present or missing.

I can always see traffic and weather in navigation. Bluecruise always works where it should.

I did this so many times and still my connected vehicle features still not coming up.

I added a pic of the Fuse any, can someone let me know if their MME look the same.

My fuse box is the same, I am sure they all are. I have noticed that my connected features settings, and the icon at the top come and go. Whenever the icon is not there, the settings are not there either. After not even trying for several days, I pushed a departure time in FordPass yesterday, and when I checked the car today, to my surprise it was there. But guess what wasn't? The connected features icon and the settings were empty again. My theory might hold true. I did not get a chance to pull the fuses. Hoping when I get in the car after work the connected features stuff will be back, which would contradict my theory.

Again, the strange thing is whether the connected stuff is there or not, all the connected features still work for me.

I have a funny feeling this whole weirdness might be unique to the '23s? Or maybe not considering @kdonnel 's experience.

Well I can't see nothing in the connected vehicle features and my FordPass won't connect at all.

i see this problem occasionally as well and i'm not sure what causes it. per my post the other day i thought it had something to do with fordpass being in a weird state, but i noticed it happened two times past when i got FP/PAAK working right.

i don't have a programmed departure time. i do use CarPlay though, so i wonder if it has to do with the car not figuring out that it needs to switch to the cellular modem to get data, since it probably starts up connected to wifi and then the wifi interface is usurped by CarPlay.

i'll keep an eye on this and see if the lack of connected feature toggles tracks with the presense/absense of the cellular icon in the top bar.

The Connected Features came back after disconnecting the negative terminal on the 12 volt battery for 5 minutes. Ford support wanted me to go to the dealer and get the modem reprovisioned. 2022 Mach-E, September 2022 build

That's what up. Not a EV/Car person and I know if I take my EV back to have them do that they would give me a hard time. I wish it was easy to get to the battery. I would drop it.

November 2020 build 2021 MME same weirdness and departure schedule is hit and miss in the car and now almost no chance sending it thru fordpass. Last winter it was working and this winter not a chance which to me points directly to software updates between last winter and this. I would guess unplugging fuses and/or disconnecting the 12V will not do much to fix it. They noted here that Ford is aware of the issue but of course Ford and their dealers prefer not to acknowledge it to leave you not knowing and tring strange stuff to get working what does not. From what I have seen so far we are looking a 4 to 6 months for a fix if it comes. I think it working for this winter you can kiss good bye.

Here is a fix. link

I’ve had the connected icon disappear and the dropdown menu disappear as well. I don’t use departure times as my MME is in a warm garage. Last time I noticed the icon was gone, it all came back after simply powering the car off and back on. In any case, I’ve had no issues with any of my connected services.

It’s definitely a bug since 4.1.2, I don’t think it has anything to do with TCU being provisioned, cause you can still see in bezel diagnostics that it is provisioned and connected, it’s just failing to grab the settings from the server which fill the dropdown menu. You can see all these settings through the JSON backend trick are in the cloud. If TCU wasn’t provisioned, no connected services would be working.

The Ford rep said that the modem should be re provisioned, not the TCU., sorry.
