Ford just posted this and I confirmed it on consumer reports (but it's behind a paywall so can't link to it).

Range reports of EVs in different temps

It was nice to see that the ranges of the Mach e were virtually identical to the Tesla MY.

Note - if you belong to a public library, you may have FREE access to the entire Consumer Reports database. Visit your library's website. Once logged into the site, you click on the CR link and sometimes put in your library's info and you're good to go.

I would love for the EPA to adopt a 3-part label/rating like CR used, rather than the single rating they have today.

Getting ready for the flood of "where did my range go" posts this winter, this should be sticky.

according to CR, if I read this right,
Cold =16 degrees
Mild = 50 degrees
Warm = 80 degrees

A reminder that "cold" means different things to different people.

I'm actually confused why they included the Ioniq 5 in this test, they didn't even test it in the cold, totally weird move by CR.

Ford Mustang Mach-E CR report on EV range tests 1661361115114
FWIW our SR RWD MME delivers similar numbers to the ID4 above although "cold" here is around freezing.

your mileage may vary

Plus, they spelled it “Ionic!”

It is awesome that Ford is on the dot with their EPA estimates. When I had my M3 LR, I know it was not going the full 350+ miles it was advertising. With my wife's Mach E, the GOM has been very accurate. I have been able to subtract almost the exact miles I travelled from the starting range estimate to my destination ending range.

Nice to see CR testing in this format. This will help many understand the differences temperature has on EVs. I hope more data like this is provided in the future.
Other countries do perform this kind of testing like Norway. Here is a 2021 report that includes winter and summer range results. https://insideevs.com/news/512426/norway-ev-summer-range-test/

The article says they bought the Ioniq 5 after the winter test, and they will test it this winter when the temperature is the same as the first test.

Okay, how is Tesla's "Official EPA" mileage 20% higher than what you get in the best of circumstances? Does EPA simply trust manufacturers to tell the truth?

They should have tested my Mach E, because after a lot of slow driving I barely touched 248/270
My usual was 220-230.
