To my fellow Mach-E Premium, standard range owners, what are the DC fast charging speeds that you are getting when charging at a 150KW or above station?

Ford mentions that the Mach-E Select battery can only get about charge at a peak of 115kW vs the 150kW of the Premium extended range, but I am curious if that is specific to the Select or does the Premium standard range have this limitation?

Its a limitation of the smaller battery pack. The way the cells are grouped on the smaller one can't accept the same voltage/amperage as the larger pack can.

That makes sense. Given that some people with the extended battery are getting more than 150kW at times when charging, I'm curious if the standard range pack will go above 115kW. I will have to test it out this weekend when I go for a small road trip.

It likely will go some above 115, but I have the ER battery so I haven't seen what its max is.

I haven’t seen it go past, and it will only hit above 100 for a really short time anyway. Based on my experience the average charge rate from 20-80% at EA DCFC is roughly 75 to 80 kW.

I've never seen it break 80kw

Wow, only 72kW? That's disappointing and a real disadvantage compared to the extended range Mach-E. From what I saw with Kyle's video on out of spec motoring channel, he was regularly getting 150kW on the extended range.

I don't think that's a bad speed considering the high SOC and smaller batter pack. My 4X gets around 100 kW at these SOC levels. A better test would be to plug in around 20-30% SOC and in moderate temperatures outside.

I have seen on my 68 KWh battery that at first connection on a warm battery ( driven for about 40 minutes) that I will get up to 150 KW for about a minute or so, but then goes down to 70-100 KW until it gets to 80% then about 11 KW.
I have used mostly Electrify America CP's and it is still iffy if it will Connect an Charge when plugged in as it says it should do, as I had also registered my car in the EA App and pay the $4/mo for the better rates ( $0.31/KW here in the NW).

Most times when I start charging if I am around 30% , it will start at 112 KWH, and it just drops from there into the 74 KWH range. But several times now, for no apparent reason, maybe battery temp isnt just right. It will start at 32KWH and stay there. Extremely frustrating.

Ambient temp was 72°F at the time. I had drove the car for about 50 minutes at highway speeds.
I wish the car would display more information on the charging screen.
Give some indication of why the rate is restricted, so I could maybe do something about it.

That's not the car it's Electrify America. It's a known issue with failed cable cooling if the charger won't output more than 30 something kW. Try a different charger or the other cable on that charger.

During the summer, I hit 123kW peak for 3 minutes when the battery pack was nice and warm and I was plugging in at aorund 30-35% SoC.

Even now, I usually see 100+kW for a few minutes before it settles down to 95kW. As the pack SoC gets higher, it eventually goes down to 75-80kW and sits there until 80%

While it would have been nice to have the 165kW peak of the extended range battery, I would say that I'm satisfied enough with the charging performance.. Usually during charging stops, the car is charged to my target level before I'm done using the washroom and getting a drink.

I have home charging so I don't need to DCFC frequently unless I'm on a road trip. If didn't have home charging and had to use DCFC as my primary method for charging, I would probably prefer the faster charging of cars like the Ioniq 5 or EV6.

I did try swapping to another charger the first time it happened to me, it was very cold (40°F, cold for California) the second charger had the same output.
It also happened to me during this past summer when it was 112°F.
This was the first time it happened to me during mild temps.
I did not know there was a cable cooling issue with EA. I will try swapping next time it happens.

For mere minutes.
