They comped me. It was the least they could do.
Well, I’m glad the 10K oil change for your Mustang Mach E was comped. If they had charged for it, you’d certainly have solid grounds to be very annoyed.

Wut? There is a fan and temp on my home screen. Tapping either brings up a slider. Is that not what you've got? It would be even easier if one could use the physical volume knob to adjust a slider after tapping the associated button, but I'm not understanding your complaint.
If I want to adjust the temperature, one tap changes 68 degrees to 69. Done. If you want to change the fan speed you first have to tap the fan icon to OPEN the toggle option. Absolutely no reason for this. The fan speed should initially be displayed as a toggle. I adjust the climate in the car more than I mess with media. That's me. I'd prefer physical options with better placement. Again, that's my preference.

i only have one car and can't easily let it sit in the shop so it wasn't practical to go in just for this...

Oh. That seems like a really small thing that would needlessly clutter the screen. Seems to me that the better approach would be for one tap to open the slider which can then br controlled by finger or the volume knob. Supposedly the volume knob enhancement is already being tested.

Did they use the 15-40W ? I've heard that's the best.
I’d be sort of curious to know how dirty the oil is after the first 10K?

There is ALREADY a fan icon. My suggestion doesn't add anything. It replaces the existing fan icon with a fan toggle exactly like the temperature toggled and removes an extra tap in the process. Something I would think is ideal in a car UI. I'm not trying to convince you of anything. I'm just stating a preference.

Right, but you would have to make the icon bigger to accommodate the plus and minus. I presume you would want it to match the size of the temp icon. Just seems like a waste of real estate when one tap can bring up a slider and then you can either tap/drag once more on the slider to set wherever you want, or (soon) use the volume knob to do the same thing.

With a plus and a minus, you're likely tapping many more times unless you really just want to adjust the temp by one degree. Seems way more cumbersome, especially on a screen. Of all the wish list items I've heard, this one is a puzzler. I never use the plus or minus on the temp because the slider gets me where I want (crank heat up or down) way faster.

The advantage of a dynamic display is that it can do things that aren't possible with physical buttons - like bring up a handy slider. Sounds like you prefer physical button HVAC controls, but you're going to get that in a way once they incorporate the volume knob.

It wasn't all that complicated of a procedure. I had mine done when I did the 10K mile service. I literally could have waited for the whole thing to be done. As your preferred dealer about this when you have the car in again. You'll probably have to pay for it now though.

Why is everyone messing with the temp controls so much. Just set the temperature you are comfortable at and leave it on auto. Setting it warmer doesn't make it warm up faster (and setting it cold doesn't make it cool down quicker).

What I'd like to have from the OTA team is an initial screen that has the scenes I've created so I could select the appropriate scene and be on my way without flipping from screen to screen.

I would rather have Ford push new features through first (like auto lane change, or auto-nudge you away from a truck on an adjacent lane, or enable on-demand camera views, etc.) before simplifying operation of existing features.

In fact, I was curious what voice command(s) help you set the fan speed? Anyone know?
Voice control of fan speed doesn't exist.

Alexa can answer your questions.
- Alexa, what's that irregular thumping noise?
- That thumping noise is your heart, Joe.
- Whew, I thought it was my transmission.
Or,
- Alexa, I think I'm having a heart attack!
- Ok, calling roadside assistance.
I think a good way to do it would be to combine those controls to the wheel so that at first you press one category you want to adjust and then just spin the wheel to do the adjustment.

And on the topic of hackers using f150 remotes to access the frunk, we here on the old continent have that button on the remote, it just doesn’t do anything(and this is 2 years after the launch…)
And YouTube is now their priority? Are you effing kidding me? The sort of things owners are asking for in this thread a common sense, reasonable request for basic, daily usability.

They are not asking for the car to turn into a submarine (and here we go.....)
This thread and many like it interest me: Everybody bought the MME with eyes wide open. They should have known about the lack of a fan toggle switch or frunk button. Then there are others who have a completely external locus of control; blaming Ford for their lack of BC, when it is their own unwillingness to visit the dealership. There are those that are unhappy that the battery will only charge to 100% and not 103%. (As if the extra 3% will be the deciding factor when considering a road trip).
My question is simple: Knowing many of these issues, what possessed you to purchase the car and keep it?

You’re half right there, Teslas are as ugly as hell. I’ve yet to meet a Tesla owner of more than a year hi thinks Tesla gives a damn about anything. And I know more than a couple who will never buy another Tesla.

It’s your money and your car, do what you think is best for you.
I have a tesla as well as a MME, and I can assure you that Tesla update their UI much more frequently then Ford.

As far as give a damn, Tesla has been much more responsive. When there's a recall, they offer an OTA that often goes out before the recall is announced. Can Ford say that? I'm still waiting for my Recall OTA to be applied to the MME.
