Are you suggesting that your car would behave differently in the same weather? Do you think the video is fake? I honestly have no clue what point you’re trying to make.

I’ve already pointed out it’s not a concern for me in Florida, but if you live in the mid west, Canada, etc, then cold weather performance is a valid concern.

Edit- now I’m even more confused by your response based on your thread complaining about the exact same thing:
https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/performance…-issues.16866/
I think we can both agree that thread I posted was an anomaly, considering the optimal conditions there yet the large amount of bars. It went away quite quickly after, if I remember correctly. It was likely a bug in what is a car sort of known for bugs.

And even then, the car was not dangerous to drive, as you keep saying. If you only drive in Florida then maybe you haven’t actually seen how it performs in cold weather, which is more than fine. But we do agree that it shouldn’t act that way being a performance vehicle, I’m just saying it passes cars with no problem and isn’t an issue for normal people.

Regarding that video, all I’m saying is it’s one experience and not THE experience. My experience has been I’ve had no problem whatsoever driving this car at high speeds.

That’s fair, except that based on multiple peoples experiences in cold weather performance, it does seem common.

Is it dangerous to drive? Again, I only think it would be in one situation- trying to pass a tractor trailer on a 2 lane highway if it’s really cold out. If you don’t know what kinda acceleration you’re going to get, or if it performs anything like that video…….. yeah, dangerous.

Probably not an issue for most people, but definitely something to be made aware of before you try it yourself.

This is a misconception. the 5sec starts at 0 mph. If you are already cruising at 80mph and press the accelerator, the limit of power starts right away. You don't get 5secs of full power at 80mph. If you did, I would be perfectly fine.
I rarely get the chance to cruise on the freeway at more than 70-75mph so when I was in Mexico holding at 85+, it was very noticeable all the bars that show up on the power meter and how much more sluggish the GT is at accelerating.

Day-to-day, I don’t give it a second thought but it’s certainly a new thing for me to experience a performance limit on any car and I’m coming from a 4-banger Subaru Outback.

For sure “cold” is relative.

But watching that autobahn video when at full throttle it is creeping up at less than 1 mph per second, all I could think of was the little engine that could saying “I think I can I think I can…..”

That video was bad?

Guy did 0-60 in 4.5. And then 60-100 in 10 seconds at speed, in colder/wet weather. I mean is the GT or GTPE going to be setting any speed records? No, but you're making it sound like my 2014 Jeep Patriot is gonna have a easier time passing at speed than a GT on a cold day. If you're not trying to pass another car also going 120 mph on the Autobahn, then it doesn't look like there's a reason to question whether you might die or not passing a truck here in America in the cold doing 75.

It's bad for a car that claims 480hp and 600+Ft/lb. Everything is relative, but a car that is advertised as a Mustang GT, should not be slower than its lower price sibling or a toyota camry.

Yeah, losing 1 second 0-60 is like 100 hp loss.

And 60-100 in 10 is pathetic.

That’s 4 cylinder Honda Accord territory.

And above 100? In that video it slowed to a crawl. My wife’s old minivan is faster at that speed.

The 5 Second Rule gets pretty well illustrated in this three-way drag race between a MME GT, Genesis GV60, and a Model Y LR.

Seems totally normal, we absolutely crushed them (if you close your eyes after 5 seconds).

It’s absurd how fast……. Then how slow in comparison. And that’s when it’s sunny and warm!

Agreed, but it's not endanger your life when passing bad is the point.

I've had 550-ish miles on my i4 now after 10 days of ownership (one 200+ mile road trip) and I have to say the BMW is very refined. Everything just works (like a Tesla) and I have not seen a single glitch. Both my last two Mach-Es have had the iPad screen reboot randomly in the first week.

The tech is worse in the i4 - no hands-free BC, no one pedal, lane keep assist tries to kill me in intersections, safety features like blind spot and rear cross traffic alerts aren't implemented well, and the screen is small so I have to look at it (distracted driving) to press zoom in/out or cancel navigation. It's very much a car you "drive" full-time.

At the core... you either want a luxury performance sedan (i4) or a performance crossover (MME GTPE). The biggest differences so far - the i4 is quieter and the suspension is top-notch.

Good to hear. How's the leg room, especially in the back?

My co-workers didn't complain when they sat in the back on a lunch trip. It's pretty small/narrow though... Normally I can fit a plastic toolbox in the rear leg room area in all my cars and it barely fits.

The hatchback makes it more usable than a Model 3 with a trunk.

Maybe, the electric cars just perform better in warmer weather... I really don't know... but, here in Southern California... it's always 70-80 degrees... 6-8 weeks of extreme heat and 3-4 weeks of rain (hopefully). I've put 4,000 miles on the Mach E GT PE... I've been pleasantly surprised with the car.... the only issue I have... is the price... I can't believe I own a 72k for Ford SUV... I could sell it for what I paid for it... I'm hoping it will last 8 years of driving the beach... It requires no maintenance and I don't pay to charge it... I plug it in at the shop to charge it up (for free)... every once in while, I stop at an Electrify America... it cost a about 30 dollars to get it over 80%. It's a beautiful car... just enjoy it.
