Maybe I'm using the wrong keywords when trying to search this phenonenom, but I'm not finding any threads about this. This morning my FordPass app informed me that my cabin was at desired temperature and the battery was preconditioned. Problem is, I had not scheduled a departure. I went out to the garage and sure enough my Mach-E was humming and the cabin was warm. I'm retired so I have a very inconsistent schedule. I sometimes add a departure time when I know I have an appointment, then delete it after that single trip. I double-checked the schedule to make sure there was not a departure that I had forgotten to delete. Nothing there. I kind of wonder if it is somehow remembered one from the past so I checked my personal calendar. The last time I would have set a departure for this day and time was over 2 months ago.

You have to make sure the departure time is deleted from both FordPass and in the car.

Ok, found where that can be done and learned that the car has to be running. Seems illogical that you can't do it in auxiliary mode. Anyway, no, today's random departure time was not listed. Thanks, though, I will make sure to pay attention to that in the future.

Ignore "auxilary mode". There is zero reason to use it. Always start the vehicle.

I’ve had this happen once, if not twice as well. It was about 1-2 months ago. It just randomly started on its own. I feel like mine did it at 12am-3am or some weird time. Anyway, wasn’t because I had any departure times set etc. this is a Ford issue, at least with mine.

Never use auxiliary mode, they shouldn't even have it on the car. It drains the 12V battery.

Is your car plugged into the EVSE when this happens? I have departure times set but I don't use them in the warmer weather we have now so I make sure to unplug before going to bed.

I was going through cleaning out photos and found the screenshot I took of the car preconditioning on its own. Just after 10pm at night lol. My car has been at the Ford dealership for a month now. So far they’ve replaced one failed module. Another appears to have failed a 6 hour software update once. Service manage wasn’t sure when I’d get the car back yet. So hopefully your ordeal doesn’t get worse as mine did.

I had this happen a few days ago. Apparently anyway. I always blame the operator (me) when such oddities happen because, so far, that’s always been the case. I either inadvertently set something or neglected to delete something or did something else equally odd.
