Door button on first try

Getting the door buttons to work on the third or later try has been the norm for me, but I think I've discovered the solution. Using the flat of the thumb makes it much more reliable, at least for me. ?

ps...this is my experience without Phone As A Key, so just walking up to the car and pressing the button.

pps...the fob is in my pocket but I've never pushed the buttons.

Most of the time it's just the car has to wake up from it's sleep mode, which seems to take longer when using PAAK

I love it when my car is unlocked, and pressing the button does nothing, then 2nd time it locks the doors, and third time it might open the doors

Interesting how the PAAK experience varies widely, mine is 1st press 90% of the time. Different phones and software versions I suppose.

The lock button does take a bigger press to register.

IMO, part of the issue is "what is a finger press"? @Mrn noted that.

My wife has constant issues using her phone or Android tablet. I come over to do the same function, and it works. What she considers a finger press, and what I do, are not the same.

I would say the button works for me on the first try about 80% of the time. I use the fob not PAAK so that probably helps. I have had occasions however when pressing the button does nothing. After about half a dozen attempts I have to take the fob out of my pocket and hit the unlock button. The next press on the button after unlocking has always opened the door. I think this has happened 3 times in about 2,700 miles of driving so it is not a big concern.

With my experience I would amend that to: it doesn’t matter what you use to push it as long as u push it firmly and hold it down for half a second

My average is like 4-6 presses for the front doors, 20+ for the rear doors. Granted, I probably press it once or twice a second, but still... And that's with the app open and "connected".

So you are just using the fob only? I find it very interesting how differently things function from car to car. When using the fob......the door button works first press almost ever time. Very rarely would I have to press twice.

Sometimes I use PaaK. For whatever reason it appears to function more reliably lately. I never leave home without the fob but I find myself locking it in the car more regularly while at work or running errands. About half the time the PaaK allows me to open the car on the first press. The rest of the time is is two presses or more with the occasional need to enter the code on the door pillar. Entering the code is quicker than pulling out my phone and unlocking and waking it up etc etc so I never really have to mess with the phone. Once I am in the car then the fob takes over I guess.

I use PAAK and it works on the first press probably 90% of the time. That other 10% is when it is either a)raining or b) other people are waiting to get in or c) both a and b

usually opens by 2nd try on driver door, rear doors, 3-5 tries at least.
Never had the rear door works from first two tries.
