if you are able to charge at least 10 hours a day, level 1 charges about 3mi/h so 30 miles commute is doable.

Probably more like a 30 mile commute. Even more if you consider only commuting 5 days a week and being able to change longer on the weekends.

I used it at a hotel twice this week - added 10-15% charge while I slept each night. It allowed me to avoid doing any more charging before coming home. In other words, there are many use cases for the 120V charger.
